We are looking for Production Support Electronic Engineers to join our expanding Surveillance Radar engineering team in Edinburgh and we are interested in applicants with a range of hardware experience levels, to be Engineer, Senior Engineer or Principal Engineers. We welcome applicants from Engineer through to Principal Engineer level, with the level of appointment matched to your experience, technical depth and leadership capability. All of these roles are based at Leonardo’s Edinburgh site. You will support the production and sustainment of Leonardo’s Osprey and Seaspray Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Airborne Surveillance Radar products, working on complex hardware across multiple radar variants and Line Replaceable Units (LRUs). This is not a narrow production support role. You will be involved in fault investigation, product upgrades, design changes, test improvement, qualification testing, obsolescence resolution and defect reduction. Our Radar and Advanced Targeting (RATs) Design Integrity function are seeking a Configuration Engineer to join their Configuration team. Our Configuration specialists play an integral role in insuring that configuration is embedded into the engineering life cycles of all our products ensuring that all products meet the relevant governance, regulations and legislation. As a Configuration Engineer, you will learn and develop Configuration skills and knowledge for use in the full product lifecycle: from requirements analysis; through design, procurement and manufacturing; to delivery to the customer and onwards into in-service support. Your duties will include: Working closely with supportive, talented and innovative engineers from a range of disciplines, providing them with Configuration Management support and advising them on Configuration best practice. Documentation: Review and verify documentation is suitable for progressing based on the set guidelines. Manage the approval process of new documentation, as well as overseeing the processing of updates to existing documentation. Record, distribute and control the documentation received from internal/external parties. Hardware: Managing the processing of Problem Reports and Change Requests from initiation to final disposition. Overseeing Trials Modifications to support Problem Report investigations and ensuring results of trials are captured. Collating the Change Impact assessments from the Technical Review Boards (TRB). Supporting the Change Initiator and Technical Review Board (TRB) through consultation and determining if fast track criteria is met and route Change using the Fast-Track workflow. Preparing agenda, calling and chairing the CRB (Configuration Review Boards). Arranging the Point of Embodiment (POE) changes for implementation and deciding the Change Classification based on a set criteria.
