Where can you find software and data jobs in Milan and Rome?

Start with employers' official career pages, then compare individual job descriptions for role, location and work arrangements. Skillshift brings monitored boards into one catalog, with a focus on Milan and Rome, and links back to the original postings. It does not cover every employer or vacancy in either city.

Search for the work you want to do

A job title is a starting point rather than a complete definition. A Data Engineer role may focus on pipelines, cloud infrastructure or MLOps. A Software Engineer opening may involve backend, frontend or embedded development. Read responsibilities and required qualifications before deciding whether a title fits.

Use concrete role terms and technologies you have worked with. Compare required skills with preferred qualifications, and treat unspecified work mode or salary as unknown. A company's industry alone does not determine what its technology team does.

  • Check the original employer and application URL.
  • Look for explicit location and attendance requirements.
  • Separate required experience from useful extras.
  • Confirm that the employer is still accepting applications.

Use the employer's own recruitment channel

Milan examples in the catalog include Satispay, Lexroom and Akamas. Rome examples include Leonardo, PagoPA and Exein. These are starting points for exploration, not a claim that a particular role is open today. Their boards can include other cities and countries.

An office address is different from a job location

An employer can have an office in Milan while advertising a job elsewhere. On Skillshift, a declared office can make a company match a city even when it has no matching open posting. Posting-specific role, language and salary filters still need matching vacancies.

Remote does not automatically mean you can work from Italy. Check the employer's permitted hiring countries, contract arrangements and any office attendance requirement. Formello is a municipality in the Rome metropolitan area; it is not an office in the city of Rome.

Understand what the catalog measures

Guests can preview the first 50 results in the default order. Searching, filtering, sorting, saving preferences and continuing beyond the preview require sign-in. Public company details, these guides and the insights page are available without an account.

The insights page describes jobs collected from monitored sources. It is not a census of Italian employers, and a missing or unreadable board does not prove that an employer has no vacancies. Compare any listing with the original before applying.

Questions and answers

Does Skillshift list every tech employer in Italy?

No. The catalog follows selected official sources, with a focus on Milan and Rome. Company coverage and vacancy counts describe those monitored sources, not the entire market.

Can I use the catalog without signing up?

You can preview the first 50 results and read public company details and guides. Search, filters, sorting and further results require sign-in.

Does a Rome office guarantee that a role is based in Rome?

No. Office information describes the employer. The individual job's location and permitted work arrangements must be checked separately.
