YOUR ROLE * Support daily operations of Test & Finish/Back-End semiconductor processes. * Operate and monitor test, inspection, marking, packing, and related production equipment. * Monitor process performance and ensure products meet quality and specification requirements. * Perform troubleshooting of equipment and process abnormalities and coordinate with Engineering/Maintenance when needed. * Conduct first-level analysis of production/test issues and assist in corrective actions. Perform preventive maintenance, equipment checks, and verification activities. * Ensure proper handling and traceability of semiconductor devices/materials throughout the process. * Record production, test, equipment, and quality data accurately. * Follow ESD, safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures at all times. * Support process improvement, yield improvement, and reduction of defects/downtime. * Work closely with Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality, and Production teams. * Support new product introduction, process qualification, and engineering trials when required. YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES * Graduate of Electronics Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or related technical course. * Preferably 1–3 years of experience in semiconductor Test & Finish, Assembly, IC testing, or electronics manufacturing. * Experience operating semiconductor test/assembly equipment is an advantage. * Knowledge of IC testing, inspection, marking, packing, and material handling processes. * Basic understanding of electronic components, semiconductor devices, and electrical/electronic measurements. * Familiarity with ATE/Test Handler, ICOS/inspection systems, marking machines, or related back-end equipment is an advantage. * Basic knowledge of SPC, process control, yield, defect analysis, and troubleshooting. * Able to read and understand process specifications, work instructions, equipment manuals, and schematics. * Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Basic computer skills, including Excel and production/data recording systems. * Strong attention to detail and ability to identify process abnormalities. Able to work under pressure and meet production targets. * Willing to work on shifting schedules, overtime, weekends, and holidays when required. Good communication and teamwork skills. * Safety- and quality-conscious with a strong sense of responsibility. Fresh graduates/entry-level applicants with relevant technical training may also be considered.     Job Description: Your Impact We are looking for a Test Technician to join our team at Leonardo's Luton site. This role is critical to ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of advanced aerospace and defence products through rigorous testing, fault diagnosis, and verification activities. As a Test Technician, you will be responsible for testing complex electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies and equipment against defined specifications and procedures. Working within a highly regulated manufacturing environment, you will use a range of specialist test equipment to verify product performance, investigate faults, and support the delivery of high-quality products to our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology while contributing to products that help protect people, assets, and national security. What You Will Do Testing & Verification Perform functional, environmental, and acceptance testing of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies, units, and systems. Execute test procedures in accordance with engineering specifications, manufacturing instructions, and quality standards. Configure and operate a variety of manual and automated test equipment. Verify product performance against technical requirements and customer specifications. Record, analyse, and interpret test results to determine product conformity. Support first-off, in-process, and final acceptance testing activities. Fault Diagnosis & Investigation Investigate product failures and identify root causes of faults. Perform fault-finding to component, module, or assembly level using approved diagnostic methods. Utilise schematics, drawings, circuit diagrams, and technical documentation to support fault diagnosis. Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve technical issues. Accurately document faults, corrective actions, and investigation outcomes. Production Support Support production schedules by ensuring products are tested and released in line with programme requirements. Maintain high levels of test throughput while ensuring compliance with quality standards. Contribute to continuous improvement activities focused on test efficiency, product quality, and manufacturing performance. Assist with the development, validation, and improvement of test processes and procedures. Support calibration and maintenance activities relating to test equipment and fixtures. Quality, Safety & Compliance Ensure all testing activities comply with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures. Raise non-conformance reports and quality notifications where required. Maintain accurate production and test records to support full product traceability. Adhere to ESD, FOD, and Clean-as-You-Go requirements. Operate safely and effectively within laboratory, workshop, and manufacturing environments. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and safe systems of work at all times. What You'll Bring Essential Skills & Experience Experience in testing, fault diagnosis, or manufacturing support within an engineering environment. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, circuit diagrams, and technical specifications. Experience using electronic test equipment such as: Digital Multimeters Oscilloscopes Power Supplies Signal Generators Automated Test Equipment (ATE) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience investigating and resolving technical faults. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong communication skills with the ability to document technical information clearly. Good understanding of quality and manufacturing processes. HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline. Experience testing aerospace, defence, military, or other highly regulated products. Knowledge of RF, analogue, digital, or power electronics. Experience with environmental testing and qualification activities. Understanding of ESD and FOD control procedures. Experience using automated test systems and data acquisition equipment. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Previous experience working within a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment. Job Description: The role of Test Equipment Design Authority is responsible for the assurance and compliance of test systems used at second line support to diagnose faults and return to service fast-jet radar systems. You will work closely with various IPTs (Integrated Project Team) to ensure that the equipment is safe, secure, legally compliant and configured, fully certified and continually evolving to meet the needs of the customer and Leonardo UK stakeholders. This role would be suited to a Test Engineer familiar with working on complex electronic (ideally Optical, RF, Digital and analogue based) Test Solutions. The DA will have had hands-on experience of designing complex Test Solutions over the full life cycle. Your Impact Support Verification activities, Design Changes and Obsolescence cycles You will be responsible for understanding the technical elements of the Test Equipment implementation across an international multi-partner team Strong communication skills are essential. The ability to negotiate and influence others is an essential pre-requisite, ensuring that focus remains on ‘the bigger picture’ Fully documenting and recording your work products; keeping them under configuration management, and providing plans and progress reports Working within a multi-disciplined team of engineers to resolve technical issues Support to IPTs, to attend project update meetings and be able to communicate and work within those teams with good interpersonal skills.
