La persona sarà inserita nel contesto del CTO Divisionale, presso il Laboratorio Tecnologico di Fast Prototyping, in attività di Technical Management e coordinamento di importanti progetti di Ricerca Cyber Europea (EDF o equivalenti). Il Laboratorio di Innovazione e prototipizzazione ha la missione di coordinare Programmi di ricerca internazionali sui temi Digital e Cyber, che permettano di sviluppare, in contesti collaborativi con altre Aziende Europee leader di settore, Centri Ricerca ed Università e anche in collaborazione con le altre Divisioni e Laboratori di Leonardo, requisiti, architetture, e prototipi orientati alla maturazione di nuovi prodotti e servizi della Divisione Cyber e Security. Il Laboratorio ha ideato, sviluppato e poi condotto a maturità in collaborazione con le Linee di Business ed Ingegneria progetti e servizi di successo sul mercato nazionale ed internazionale. La persona si occuperà delle seguenti attività: Leadership tecnica, in supporto al PM, di programmi di ricerca industriale Definizione e pianificazione di contributi atti al rilascio di deliverables documentali, prototipi e dimostrazioni tecniche di laboratorio Organizzazione / partecipazione a meeting fisici o virtuali operativi nell’ambito dei Consorzi internazionali che preparano, propongono alle Istituzioni Europee / Nazionali (Ministeri Difesa) e soprattutto eseguono i programmi in funzione del livello di leadership richiesto e assegnato (es: Cross-Topic Leader, Work Package Leader, Task Leader) Coordinamento di attività interne di Laboratorio per realizzare gli obiettivi comuni tra Roadmap di Laboratorio e perimetro dei progetti di ricerca per i task di prototipizzazione e dimostrazione. The role is aimed at accelerating the definition and the implementation of IC in Personal Electronics solutions. The requested figure is represented by a brilliant digital FE design engineer able to propose ideas and design solutions in the context of digital front end for Power Management ICs. The activities will be focused on system-level implementation, strongly interacting with other departments. Candidate’s key role is based on the cooperation with the system architect, developing blocks and sub-systems to meet the overall target performance, following transistor-level implementation and all simulation/ verification activities. Your Impact We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Manufacturing Engineer – Digital to join our team on a hybrid-working basis. In this role you will play a pivotal role in our manufacturing operations team, shaping the Future Manufacturing - Assy, Automation & Tooling and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Strategy, ensuring efficient production technology (Tools & Systems) introduction, adherence to quality standards, and timely project completion. The role on offer is supporting the Future Combat Air Line of Business, this role will help plan future manufacturing systems engineering activities to enable the delivery of products to schedule, quality and cost. The successful candidate will be supporting the business through developing & executing the Operations Future Manufacturing aligning with Leonardo lines of business throughout the UK in addition to National & International partners. What you will do as a Principal Manufacturing Engineering – Digital: Interface with IT, Cyber and Future Factory Digital Lifecycle team to support ongoing integration activities. Engage with LEDUK, national and international partners on smart tooling, automation and integration into MES / Common Data Environment (CDE). Support the development of Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Repair elements of the digital thread. Engagement with Future Factory in tool selection and development of digital twins (plant / process) and simulations. Supporting MES solution architects in aligning solution options for MES. Lead integration of MES elements of the Smart Workbench as the Future Proof of Concept Work in a highly skilled team, providing key inputs and data to aid Operations decisions Tracking external developments and disruptive technologies to identify exploitation and knowledge sharing within the project team. What you will do: Create and capture requirements for Test Equipment Requirement Specifications (TERS) Lead in subcontracting complex test solutions to the supply chain Manage the relationships between LEUK and 3rd party suppliers Ensure effective implementation of the company's Life-cycle design reviews Management of the Engineering technical quality, schedule and budget Support the management of Suppliers and project Make/Buy decisions as required Identify technical risks and mitigation strategies e.g. with test solutions or obsolescence Ensure that the design rationale is documented where change is required Input to Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards Concession management – ensuring effective closure plans are in place and enacted What you’ll bring Hands-on experience of designing complex Test Solutions for the full life cycle Good understanding of a range of electronic technologies from dc to light or a good understand of Systems/Software engineering lifecycle. Experience of working with external supplies and outsourcing complex work packages. Extensive knowledge in NI LabVIEW & TestStand. Degree qualified (or equivalent) Good schedule and budget control Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders Strong leadership competency but also can demonstrate team working skills Knowledge of engineering life cycle and business process. It would be nice if you had: Good understanding of digital/analogue/RF systems with ESM and ECM Experience of working in the defence electronics sector, ideally with airborne sensor systems.
