YOUR ROLE As a Backfinish Process Engineer, you will support the manufacturing and optimization of metallization and backgrind processes in a high-volume semiconductor environment. You will work closely with equipment engineering, production, quality teams to ensure stable process performance, high yields, and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include: * Support day-to-day monitoring and troubleshooting of metallization and backgrind equipment and processes. * Assist in defining, updating, and maintaining process parameters, recipes, operating windows, and control plans. * Analyze process data, identify abnormalities, and propose corrective actions to improve yield, quality, and equipment reliability. * Participate in root cause analysis for process excursions, equipment stops, defects, and scrap reduction. * Support debugging, qualification, and implementation of process changes, new equipment, and engineering trials. * Work with Production and Quality teams to support issue containment, problem solving, and lot disposition. * Participate in SPC / KPI monitoring, data reviews, and regular reporting on process performance. * Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, quality, productivity, and safety. YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES * Bachelor’s degree in Microelectronics, Electronics, Materials Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical discipline * Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve technical problems systematically * A basic understanding of metallization or backgrind process flows is a plus * Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions * Ability to work in a structured, fast-paced production environment * Team-oriented, proactive, and eager to grow technically * Entry-level candidates are welcome; internship or academic project experience in process engineering or manufacturing is a plus ST is proud to be one of the 17 companies certified as a 2026 Global Top Employer and the first and only semiconductor company to achieve this distinction. YOUR ROLE We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buffered Oxide Etch Wafer Process Owner to own and optimize the BOE wet etch process used in wafer patterning and oxide opening applications. This role is responsible for ensuring precise, uniform, and repeatable oxide removal that supports accurate pattern transfer, high device quality, and strong manufacturing yield. The successful candidate will work closely with lithography, etch, integration, metrology, yield, and manufacturing teams to maintain process stability, troubleshoot excursions, and drive continuous improvement. * Support process characterization, qualification, and continuous improvement activities. * Collaborate with lithography, etch, integration, yield, and quality teams to resolve process issues. * Conduct root cause analysis for excursions, yield loss, and defectivity concerns. * Support SPC monitoring, process capability improvement, and change control activities. * Qualify new chemistries, equipment changes, and recipe updates as needed. * Support technology transfers and new product introductions. YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field. * At least 2 years experience in semiconductor wet processing, oxide etch, or pattern transfer applications. * Strong understanding of BOE chemistry, wet etch behavior, and process control. * Experience with root cause analysis, SPC, and DOE methodologies. * Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional manufacturing environment. * Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills..
