YOUR ROLE The role involves designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge models and solutions across a range of quantitative and AI disciplines, including machine learning, optimization, neural networks, and agentic AI * Design, develop, and implement advanced models in machine learning, optimization, neural networks, and AI domains such as computer vision. * Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements, define problem statements, and translate them into effective data science solutions. * Analyze large and complex datasets to uncover trends, generate insights, and support data-driven decision-making using statistical techniques. * Develop proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and scalable solutions that clearly demonstrate business value. * Provide thought leadership in data science and AI, promoting best practices and innovative approaches across projects. * Prepare and review technical design documentation, ensuring clarity, quality, and alignment with architecture standards. * Contribute to innovation initiatives, including intellectual property development and potential patent submissions. * Collaborate with global teams on cross-site data science projects, fostering strong teamwork and knowledge sharing. * Support local technical leadership in Singapore by ensuring effective project execution and timely delivery. YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES * Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. * Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models and AI solutions in a production or business environment. * Strong knowledge of statistical methods, data analysis, and predictive modeling techniques. * Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and familiarity with relevant libraries/frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn). * Experience working with large-scale datasets, data processing tools, and cloud platforms is an advantage. * Hands-on experience with AI domains such as GenAI, optimization, or deep learning is preferred. * Solid understanding of data engineering concepts, data pipelines, and model deployment practices is a plus. * Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. * Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams. * Prior experience contributing to innovation initiatives, research, or intellectual property development is a plus. Job title: Lithography Process Engineer 1\. Process Development and Optimization * Operate, and optimize photolithography equipment, including Canon i-Line Stepper / Canon DUV stepper / Canon Scanner systems. * Hands-on DNS track experience to support lithography process setup, development, optimization, and tool performance improvement activities. * Define, develop, and tune process recipes, including focus, exposure dose, alignment, overlay, and other critical lithography parameters. * Support BCD technology development through process characterization, window expansion, and optimization activities. * Conduct process experiments, collect and analyze data, and implement improvements to enhance process robustness and performance. * Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and equipment teams to introduce and qualify new processes or process changes. 2\. Process Monitoring and Control * Monitor lithography process performance to ensure consistent output, high yield, and stable operation. * Use DNS track knowledge to support process monitoring, track troubleshooting, and day-to-day manufacturing stability. * Perform routine process qualifications, tool matching, SPC monitoring, and defect analysis. * Troubleshoot process excursions, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. * Work closely with equipment engineers to ensure tool readiness, uptime, and process stability. 3\. Data Analysis and Problem Solving * Analyze process, metrology, and defect data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. * Lead or support root-cause analysis for process-related issues and yield loss. * Use data-driven methods to improve process stability, throughput, and overall manufacturing performance. * Provide technical recommendations based on experimental results and production data. 4\. Documentation and Reporting * Maintain accurate records of process parameters, experiments, qualifications, and results. * Prepare technical reports, summaries, and presentations for engineering reviews and management updates. * Update process specifications, operating procedures, and control plans as required. * Ensure proper documentation of process changes and lessons learned. 5\. Cross-Functional Collaboration * Work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, production, quality, equipment, and integration. * Support shift engineers and technicians as needed to resolve process or tool-related issues. * Participate in technical discussions, problem-solving meetings, and improvement initiatives. * Contribute to smooth process integration and technology transfer activities. 6\. Continuous Improvement * Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve yield, efficiency, quality, and cycle time. * Explore opportunities for process automation and smarter process control. * Support lean manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives in the lithography area. * Drive standardization and best practice sharing across tools and teams. You design and build agentic AI–driven expert systems that enable predictive and autonomous decision making in manufacturing. 2. Develop agent based and multiagent AI systems that can plan, decide, and act on behalf of operators, equipment, or production lines. 3. Design reasoning and decision policies that leverage rules, optimization, and learning to handle complex, real time manufacturing scenarios (e.g. dispatching, scheduling, routing, quality control). 4. Use simulation and digital twins to model production flows, equipment behavior, and system constraints, and to safely test and refine agent strategies before deployment. 5. Integrate predictive models (e.g. for demand, machine health, cycle time, yield) into expert systems to support proactive and prescriptive decisions. 6. Collaborate closely with process owners, planners, and equipment engineers to translate operational knowledge into rules, heuristics, and agent objectives. 7. Evaluate agentic AI solutions using KPIs such as throughput, WIP, cycle time, OEE, and cost, and iteratively improve performance. 8. Document architecture, algorithms, experiments, and support presentations, publications, and IP creation related to expert and agentic AI systems. YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES 1. Bachelor or master’s in computer science, AI, Data Science, Operations Research, Industrial/Electrical Engineering, or similar. 2. Strong foundation in AI and machine learning, with exposure to at least one of: 1. Reinforcement learning / multiagent RL 2. Planning and decision making under uncertainty 3. Rule based or knowledge-based systems 3. Experience with Python and AI/ML ecosystems (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikitlearn, RL libraries). 4. Familiarity with simulation and modeling of manufacturing or logistics systems (e.g. discrete event simulation, agent-based simulation, digital twins). 5. Understanding of operations research / optimization (e.g. scheduling, routing, resource allocation) is a strong plus. 6. Comfortable working with real operational and equipment data, including cleaning, feature engineering, and validation. 7. Strong analytical and conceptual skills, able to formalize complex shopfloor logic into rules, constraints, and agent objectives. 8. Collaborative, curious, and proactive, able to work with cross functional teams and incorporate domain expert feedback into AI systems. 9. English business proficiency, both written and spoken, for documentation, stakeholder discussions, and technical presentations. YOUR ROLE STMicroelectronics (Malta) Ltd. is seeking to recruit a Senior Process Engineer – NPI (Backend Manufacturing). The Senior Process Engineer leads and manages the successful industrialization of new semiconductor packages in high-volume backend manufacturing (assembly and testing). This role focuses on process development, optimization, qualification and the smooth transition of new products from development to volume production in adherence to business targets. Duties & Responsibilities The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Design, develop, qualify, and industrialize new assembly processes for semiconductor packaging across various market segments: Industrial, Automotive, and Space. * Lead the transition of new process designs from the initial project phase (sample prototype | conceptual design) to high-volume production. * Learn and apply advanced engineering process design methodologies (DOE, advanced statistical analysis, AI/ML) to establish robust and scalable processes. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams: R&D, Product Quality, Product Engineering, and suppliers (materials and equipment). * Mentor process technicians and junior engineers serve as technical references and guidance for the production team during the ramp-up phase. Skills & Qualifications The ideal candidate shall: * Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Materials, Mechanical, Electrical) or a science-related field. * Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ industrial experience in the manufacturing industry. Knowledge of semiconductor backend manufacturing technology and experience working in an advanced technology manufacturing facility are assets. * Skills: Strong knowledge in Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and hands-on problem solving. * Leadership Qualities: able to influence cross-functional teams and drive results.
