Job Description: We are recruiting a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to join our Copernicus Operations Engineering team, working on-site at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt in support of the CO2M mission. Key Responsibilities Experience & Mission Background Several years of hands-on experience in spacecraft operations, with a strong focus on LEO missions across all operational phases Demonstrated experience in Operations Preparation (OPS Prep) — developing, validating, and maintaining Flight Operations Procedures (FOPs) and operational baselines AOCS & Payload Good expertise in Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (AOCS) Hands-on experience with payload instrument operations i.e characterisation, calibration, and performance verification Ground Segment & Tools Proficient in spacecraft simulator operations for procedure validation and training campaigns Strong working knowledge of ground segment monitoring and control systems Skilled in SCOS-2000, CCSDS and ECSS standards, and file-based operations Programming & Automation Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and SQL for operational automation, data trending, and performance analysis Experience applying scripting to streamline routine operations and support mission analysis Soft Skills & Communication Fluent in English — written and spoken — with strong cross-functional communication skills Effective collaborator across spacecraft engineering, mission analysis, and external partner teams Proven ability to work independently and within multinational, distributed teams Seniority: Expert Primary Location: DE - Darmstadt - EUMETSAT Contract Type: Employee-Permanent Hybrid Working: Onsite
