The AMHS AME is responsible for uptime, reliability and sustainability of AMHS (Automated Material Handling System) in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. The role demands strict adherence to tight timelines, rapid response to dynamic changes, and compliance with semiconductor industry standards (e.g., SEMI, E84). AME will assist engineer’s ownership of AMHS equipment, focusing on performance optimization, root cause analysis (RCA), and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime in a 24/7 high-volume production environment. Close collaboration with suppliers, fab operations, and cross-functional teams is essential. Project Management & Execution \- Follow engineer’s lead and coordinate AMHS deployment in semiconductor fabs, ensuring compatibility with cleanroom requirements, wafer handling protocols, and fab layout constraints. \- Assist engineer and coordinate with OHT (Overhead Hoist Transport), AMR, stockers, and EFEM suppliers to ensure seamless integration with modules (e.g., lithography, etch, implant). \- Ensure compliance with SEMI standards (e.g., SEMI E84 for AMHS, SECS/GEM communication) and fab safety protocols (working at height, chemical handling, fire suppression). System Performance & Equipment Ownership (Fab Operations Support) \- Own AMHS performance post-installation, ensuring high uptime (>99.9%) to prevent wafer movement bottlenecks in production. \- Monitor OHT traffic, tower stocker utilization, and load port availability to optimize wafer delivery efficiency. \- Perform RCA on AMHS-related wafer delays, misprocessing, or contamination events using 8D, 5 Whys, or Fishbone methodologies. Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement \- Provide rapid troubleshooting for OHT jams, vehicle deadlocks, RFID misreads, or load port misalignments to minimize wafer stuck time. \- Drive automation enhancements using lean program to reduce manual interventions. \- Collaborate with equipment engineers to resolve wafer-handling-related defects (e.g., wafer breakage, misalignment). Stakeholder & Supplier Management \- Assist engineer and participate in weekly AMHS supplier meeting to track defect rates, response times, and improvement actions. \- Work with fab operations, production planning, and process engineering to align AMHS performance. \- Provide training to technicians on AMHS recovery procedures and best practices.
