What you will do as a Supportability Engineer (Electronics) Partner with multidisciplinary project teams to shape supportable next-generation radar systems Perform reliability modelling and electronic failure analysis at equipment and component level Influence hardware design through RAMT assessments, maintainability studies and supportability trade-offs Develop and maintain FMEA/FMECA , fault analysis and reliability predictions Contribute to diagnostics, testability strategies and through-life support solutions Help solve real-world engineering challenges, improving product resilience from concept to disposal What you’ll bring We’d love to hear from you if you have experience in some of the following: Background in electronics, hardware or systems engineering Ability to interpret schematics, circuit designs and component-level behaviour Experience in reliability, supportability, RAMT, safety, design assurance or related disciplines Exposure to FMEA/FMECA, fault analysis or root cause investigations Knowledge of defence, aerospace, complex electronics or safety-critical systems (helpful but not essential) Degree in Electronics Engineering, Physics or similar — or equivalent industry experience This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. Your impact We are looking for a skilled aviation engineer who we will train to become a Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineer. You will apply your existing maintenance knowledge, skills and experience to this new role. Which involves identifying possible failures, understanding the effect of failures and preventing them occurring. You will be capable of applying a logical and methodical approach to the required work. As part of our R&M Team, you will help us drive continuous improvement in platform performance. You will be providing support to design engineering, logistics modelling and prepare contracted deliverable outputs for a range of helicopter programmes across the lifecycle. You will be based at Leonardo’s site in Yeovil, the Home of British Helicopters, which has been an aerospace hub for more than 100 years. What you will do as a Supportability Engineer (Electronics) Work alongside electronics, systems and software engineers to influence the design of advanced radar products Analyse electronic circuits, assemblies and subsystems to understand failure mechanisms and improve product resilience Conduct reliability, maintainability and supportability assessments throughout the engineering lifecycle Develop FMEA/FMECA and failure analysis activities at component, board and equipment level Support diagnostics, fault-finding and testability strategies for complex electronic systems Use RAMT techniques to help shape engineering decisions and optimise through-life support solutions Contribute to root cause investigations and continuous improvement activities across development and in-service products What you’ll bring We’d love to hear from you if you have experience in some of the following: Electronics engineering, hardware design, electronic test, systems engineering or product support engineering Understanding of electronic components, circuit design principles and schematic interpretation Failure investigation, root cause analysis or reliability engineering within electronic products Reliability, maintainability, supportability, RAMT or design assurance activities Working with complex, high-integrity or safety-critical systems Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related discipline We welcome applications from electronics engineers looking to move into reliability and supportability engineering.
