Your role as a Senior Stress Engineer will be primarily to support product designs that are in-service or being developed for customers by providing the necessary structural verification that demonstrates compliance against customer and or regulatory specifications. You will communicate key aspects of results and findings to project integrated teams and the company airworthiness authority and technically advise on all aspects of stress engineering activities. It will involve working with multi-discipline project teams, interfacing with customers (internal and external) and liaising closely with engineers from many other disciplines. Provide guidance on structural design improvements relating to component sustainability and manufacturing considerations. Provide recommendations on component or sub assembly optimisation i.e. mass reduction, reduced part count etc. Support the selection of manufacturing technologies and materials based on a sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles e.g. statics, dynamics (vibration and shock), strength of materials and failure mechanisms. Support all structural aspects of product development from concept design through to test and certification. What we need from you: The candidate should have a degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering with post-graduate experience in stress & vibration engineering. Professional recognition as a Chartered Engineer or proven associated competencies is desirable. It is advantageous for the candidate to have experience in the design, development and test of electronics packaging and/or aerospace systems equipment.
