YOUR ROLE We are seeking a Senior Expert in Embedded Software Security and Security Architectures to define, oversee, and strengthen all software security development activities for the RFOC subgroup products across automotive and non-automotive markets. This role is responsible for leading security-by-design practices throughout the software lifecycle, from requirements definition through design, implementation, integration, validation, and release support. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in embedded software development, cybersecurity standards, secure coding, and security architecture, with the ability to guide engineering teams and collaborate effectively with quality, project management, and product stakeholders. The position requires a strong background in automotive quality processes such as ASPICE, knowledge of ISO/SAE 21434 and cybersecurity requirements for automotive products as well as Common Criteria and SESIP for IT and IoT applications. It has to support internal and external audits related to security, quality, and process compliance. Prepare and provide evidence, documentation, and technical justification during reviews and audits. It is key the ability to operate effectively in complex, fast-paced, and demanding development environments. * Security Leadership and Architecture Define and supervise the software security strategy for RFOC subgroup products. Lead the design of secure embedded software architectures for automotive and non-automotive applications. Establish security requirements, security controls, and architectural principles aligned with product and market needs. Review and approve security-related design decisions, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations. Support threat analysis, risk assessment, and security concept activities for embedded systems. End-to-End Security Development Oversigh * Drive software security activities across the full development lifecycle: Requirements management, architecture and detailed design, implementation, integration, verification and testing. Ensure security features are implemented consistently and robustly across software components. Guide engineering teams in adopting secure development practices and maintaining traceability from security requirements to validation evidence. * Secure Coding and Secure Development Practices Promote and enforce secure coding practices across embedded software teams. Perform or lead secure code reviews, vulnerability assessments, and remediation planning. Define security development guidelines, coding rules, and defensive programming practices. Contribute to the analysis and mitigation of software vulnerabilities and security weaknesses. * Team Guidance and Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with software engineering teams to drive execution and quality across security-related activities. Provide technical leadership and coaching to engineers involved in security requirements, design, implementation, integration, and testing. Collaborate with project management, quality assurance, product management, system engineering, and other stakeholders. Help teams make practical, risk-based decisions when ideal solutions are constrained by technical, timing, cost, or program realities. * Program Execution in Complex Environments Adapt to changing priorities, evolving planning, and shifting technical constraints. Sustain performance during workload peaks and operate effectively under pressure in large and challenging projects. Manage trade-offs and compromises when the optimal path is not feasible, while preserving security integrity as much as possible. Support issue resolution and escalation management for security-related risks and execution blockers. * Innovation and Continuous Improvement Stay current with emerging trends in embedded security, automotive cybersecurity, and secure development methodologies. Champion innovation in development workflows, including the use of AI-driven tools and methodologies to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency. Identify opportunities to simplify processes, automate repetitive tasks, and improve the effectiveness of security engineering practices. Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, methods, templates, and best practices. YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES Experience * Extensive experience in embedded software design and development. * Proven experience in software security, security architecture, or cybersecurity engineering for embedded products. * Experience working in automotive development environments and applying ASPICE-based processes. * Hands-on knowledge of ISO/SAE 21434, automotive cybersecurity engineering practices, Common Criteria and SESIP. * Demonstrated experience with secure coding, code review, and security vulnerability mitigation. * Experience supporting technical audits, quality reviews, and customer-facing security assessments. Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Safety Architect to lead the definition, analysis, and implementation of hardware and software safety countermeasures for next-generation microcontroller products targeting automotive, industrial, and humanoid robotics applications. The processes and tooling implemented by the Principal DevSecOps Engineer will enable source code and associated artefacts to be installed and configured on scalable infrastructure across environments which comply to strict security regulations. The Principal DevSecOps Engineer will typically combine the skills of software coding and/or scripting, process reengineering and infrastructure provisioning with exemplary leadership, team working and communication skills. The Principal DevSecOps Engineer should have a good breadth of knowledge across the disciplines of software development and how software and infrastructure is deployed. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of performing in a similar strategic and leading DevSecOps position, and preferably working in a secure environment. You will possess a strong all round technical ability with an excellent working knowledge of platform capability area for Cloud / Hybrid and on-premise network and systems infrastructure technologies. An awareness of cyber security capabilities is advantageous. You will need to have strong experience in owning and overseeing the building, implementing and maintaining of systems with complex architectures on client site; with on-going proactive operational support, and working closely with key stakeholders and end users. What you’ll do as a Principal DevSecOps Engineer: As a Principal DevSecOps Engineer within the Cyber Division, you will typically be working as part of a larger Project team including the design, development and testing of secure systems, including but not limited to, Information Management Systems, Command and Control systems, Security Monitoring of IT, IoT and CNI systems and services. These roles will have the ability to take ownership / implement the DevSecOps side of the engineering delivery of one or more work packages, including the planning, estimation, execution and progress reporting of own workload and that of other team members. What we need from you: Assist in the overall implementation of new software / applications / packing for the Cyber division. Analyse requirements, design, implement and unit test software code and supporting artefacts using appropriate tools. As required, lead on software/application development activities. Plan and undertake installations on development, test, reference and operational environments. Deliver consistent high-quality software and environmental builds through automation. Creation and maintenance of automaton frameworks for software and/or environment provisioning and ongoing operation. Managing and controlling software configuration for projects including the source repository. Implement and maintain of Continuous Integration (CI) and/or Build pipelines where appropriate. Understand change control and release management practices. Ensure high availability and security of systems through robust monitoring, logging, and alerting. Assist in data engineering activities (data cleansing, integration, onward data analytics). Provide application support to existing deployed services. Contribute to the improvement and efficiency of the Cyber division. You really must have: A good working knowledge and experience of various techniques with a broad scope of skills and experience of mainstream IT infrastructure services and components including: Demonstrable experience of performing a similar role, ideally within a secure or regulated environment. Lead the development and implementation of DevSecOps tools and practices. Support and mentor fellow DevSecOps engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture and driving continuous improvement to address operational issues. Advanced experience of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and automation tools (Terraform & Ansible) for automating infrastructure builds and configuration. Strong experience of designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) to automate builds, tests & deployments to ensure secure and compliant delivery of applications. Proficiency in managing Kubernetes clusters in a production setting, with a focus on security and scalability. Previous experience of developing and managing Helm charts for secure Kubernetes application deployments. Strong understanding of Git and Source Code Repository management (GitLab, GitHub); with experience of Branching Strategies for controlled Release Management. O/S System Administration experience - Linux, Windows level scripting. Good knowledge of Agile methodologies, SCRUM, BDD, TDD. Clear and effective communication skills. Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for solving complex/technical problems. Flexible and adaptable attitude, capable of acquiring new skills.
