Job Description: Salary Range: £37,000 – £44,000 Leonardo UK operates a grade-based salary framework with broad bands. The salary range shown reflects the approved grade band for this role, or a narrower hiring range published within that band, and is benchmarked against the external market. Exceptions above the standard range are managed through governance controls to protect internal equity. Your impact We have an exciting opportunity for an organised and data-focused Maintenance Engineering Support Coordinator to support Maintenance Engineering in improving the planning, scheduling, and reporting of maintenance activities. The role will primarily involve working within SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) to create, update, and schedule planned maintenance tasks. The successful candidate will also use Microsoft Excel and Power BI to maintain accurate records, analyse maintenance data, and produce reports that support effective decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative and analytical skills who is interested in developing their knowledge of maintenance planning, SAP, and data-driven engineering improvement. For the awareness of internal candidates, this is a JFF Level 4 position. This is predominately an onsite role with occasional working from home. What you will do as a Maintenance Engineering Support Coordinator Create and maintain planned maintenance tasks, maintenance plans, task lists, and scheduling information within SAP PM. Support the development and implementation of preventative maintenance schedules for plant, equipment, and facilities. Review existing maintenance data to identify missing, incomplete, or inaccurate information. Work with maintenance engineers, technicians, supervisors, and other stakeholders to confirm task requirements, frequencies, labour needs, spare parts, and supporting documentation. Assist with the preparation of maintenance work packages, including task instructions, safety requirements, and supporting information. Monitor scheduled maintenance activities and highlight overdue, incomplete, or incorrectly configured tasks. Use Microsoft Excel to organise, cleanse, validate, and analyse maintenance data. Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to monitor key maintenance indicators, such as compliance, backlog, overdue tasks, work-order completion, and schedule performance. Produce regular progress updates for the Maintenance Engineering Project Lead and wider management team. Support continuous improvement activities relating to maintenance planning, data quality, and reporting. Maintain accurate project records and ensure changes are documented appropriately. Liaise with relevant teams to resolve data issues and support the effective use of SAP PM. What you’ll bring Applicants should be able to demonstrate: Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, data validation, formulas, and pivot tables. Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to data entry and record management. The ability to organise workloads, manage priorities, and meet deadlines. Confidence working with technical information and large datasets. Good communication skills, with the ability to work with engineers, technicians, supervisors, and managers. The ability to work independently while supporting a wider project team. A willingness to learn new systems and develop an understanding of maintenance planning processes. Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous: SAP Plant Maintenance, particularly maintenance plans, task lists, notifications, and work orders. Maintenance planning, engineering administration, asset management, or facilities management. Creating dashboards and reports in Microsoft Power BI. Data cleansing, data analysis, or performance reporting. Engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, defence, utilities, or another asset-intensive environment. Supporting improvement projects or system implementation activities. Qualifications A relevant qualification in engineering, business administration, data analysis, or a related subject would be beneficial. However, practical experience and the ability to demonstrate the required skills will also be considered. Additional Information Training can be provided for the right candidate. Previous SAP PM experience would be beneficial, but applications are also welcome from candidates with strong Excel skills, good attention to detail, and an interest in developing a career in maintenance planning and engineering support. This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn. Security Clearance This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
