    Job Description: The opportunity: At Leonardo, we have an opportunity for a Quality Engineer within our Servicing and Support line of business (Advance Targeting) based in Edinburgh. The servicing and support line of business (AT) is uniquely positioned to service our world leading radars, lasers and infra-red countermeasure systems. As AT Product Assurance Engineer you will interact at Programme and Integrated Project Team (IPT) level. Working in partnership with the Programme and Project Managers. Please note this role will include shift working (4on/4off). What you’ll do as a Quality Engineer As a Quality Engineer you will interact at Integrated Project Team (IPT) level. Working in partnership with the Operations team / IPT to: Offer advice, support and assistance on all Quality Assurance / Quality Control matters Contribute actively to IPT requirement to deliver a compliant product in a timely manner meeting all cost and safety requirements Agree the Project Assurance Plans (PAP) defining project assurance activities aligned to Risk, Opportunity and Improvement within the Programme and associated Pro-operating in line with the requirements of the Operational Framework Provide leadership to the Assurance Teams in order to meet Programme and IPT objectives Actively ensure LPS goals for Quality KPIs including QNs, MRB, FRBs etc are achieved by supporting improvement plans and active management of key activity such as MRB etc Lead the Assurance function’s improvement plans across all phases of the Programme, Product and Project Lifecycle Mentor others in order to grow Quality excellence within the Programme Successful apply interpersonal skills to positively influence behaviours within Quality at individual and team level Attend and contribute to key meetings including (but not limited to ) IPT, morning meetings DPU forums, Engineering WO meetings etc. Take leadership in ensuring concessions / production permits are processed correctly and in timely manner, directly supporting where required. Support achievement of project assurance milestones within the Programme, Product and Project lifecycle. Assist in delivery of reports and supporting data to the Programme, Project and function as required. Support reduction of Non-Conformance costs and implement a root cause and corrective action culture to reduce the cost implications on the programmes and project. What we need from you: Further education and experience ideally in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or experience in Defence Electronics or similarly "complex" industry. Be able to demonstrate knowledge within the areas of AS9100 / ISO9001 and Continuous improvement. Some knowledge and practical experience of Quality Tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification and First Article Inspection. Be a logical thinker, capable of harvesting complex data into actions with practical solutions that supports business goals, in 'the language of the business'. Have good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across all functions of the business. Be able to demonstrate experience in working with Customers and Suppliers. The role on offer is supporting the Future Combat Air Line of Business, this role will help plan future manufacturing activities to deliver products to schedule, quality and cost. The successful candidate will be supporting the business through developing & executing the Operations NPI process, Repair Definition, DFx and Manufacturing & Repair requirement strategies aligning with Leonardo lines of business throughout the UK. What you will do as a Manufacturing Engineer: Providing specialist input including the application of specialist skills and knowledge into a project team to help ensure the delivery of a technically sound solutions, meeting all stakeholder requirements within an NPI environment. Lead the maturity of prototyping with a heavy focus on technical requirements generation & DFX. Define the future requirements for products and services across the life cycle of the programme. Harmonise Manufacturing Engineering activities across multiple sub-system projects (UK wide). Lead failure investigations, aware of all the project issues, able to prioritise and championing the solutions and deliverables using known problem solving techniques (e.g. 8D).
