Producing Manufacturing Data Packs in line with BS8888, including appropriate use of GD&T. Support to successful resolution of technical investigations. Contributing to reviews of mechanical designs in accordance with business and industry standards. Hands on involvement in practical implementation of development builds and Design of Experiments. Providing support during the introduction of new product into the Development/Production lifecycle phase. Actively contribute to Work Package delivery elements to achieve desired Quality, Schedule and Cost. Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience: A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar), or experience in the field of Defence (Airborne, naval, etc) environments. Mechanical engineering for Electronic and/or EO products Design of systems for ‘harsh environments’ i.e. Shock, Vibration, Temperature, EMC, Salt fog, etc. Mechanical design and development using 3D CAD tools (ideally PTC Creo). Problem solving using a structured, logical approach to investigate issues and problems in an effective manner. Understanding Structural and Thermal Analyses data, to inform design decisions. Experienced in various aspects of Design for X (DfX), including Manufacturing, Assembly, Test, Integration and Sustainability. Your impact: As a Principal Test Engineer, you will support the design, development, and ongoing support of electro-optical test equipment and test processes for Leonardo’s range of Precision Guidance products – from early development through to production. You will work as part of the test engineering team, contributing to the specification, design, integration, and verification of test solutions. We are looking for an experienced Test Engineer to act as point of contact for Project Teams and coordinate the work for a multi-disciplined team of Test Engineers. Your impact As Principal Test Systems Engineer you will be responsible for the specification, design, procurement, manufacture, verification and evaluation of test equipment and procedures. Develop, procure, instal and commission new test capability for testing the performance of our new development product types. Act as Test Lead at Integrated Product Team meetings.
