IL TUO RUOLO Nell’ambito della linea produttiva di semiconduttori da 200 mm con sede ad Agrate, è aperta una posizione finalizzata al rafforzamento del team di Process Engineering PVD. La risorsa selezionata sarà coinvolta in attività di controllo di processo, troubleshooting, analisi dati e miglioramento continuo, con l’obiettivo di supportare una produzione stabile, efficiente e di elevata qualità. In qualità di PVD Process Engineer Intern, la risorsa si occuperà di: * Operare e ottimizzare i tool di deposizione di metalli tramite tecnica PVD, definendo e mettendo a punto le ricette di processo al fine di garantire qualità, stabilità e ripetibilità dei processi. * Eseguire il monitoraggio del processo e le attività di troubleshooting, incluse qualifiche macchina, analisi difetti, monitoraggio SPC e FDC, per assicurare prestazioni di processo stabili e costanti. * Analizzare i dati di processo e di metrologia per individuare opportunità di miglioramento, condurre analisi delle root cause e implementare azioni correttive e preventive volte a incrementare resa, throughput e stabilità di processo. * Aggiornare la documentazione di processo e le Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in funzione delle modifiche e dei miglioramenti introdotti. * Collaborare con i team cross-funzionali, inclusi R&D, produzione e quality assurance. * Partecipare attivamente alle riunioni di team e alle attività di problem solving, fornendo supporto a process ed equipment engineers e al team di manufacturing. * Contribuire alle iniziative di miglioramento continuo finalizzate ad aumentare efficienza, resa e qualità, individuando e implementando anche opportunità di automazione dei processi. ESPERIENZA E COMPETENZE RICHIESTE * Studente/Studentessa o Laureato/a in Scienze dei Materiali, Fisica, Chimica o Ingegneria (elettronica, fisica, chimica, dei materiali). * Capacità di guidare e partecipare a team di problem solving cross-funzionali. * Ottime doti relazionali e comunicative. * Attitudine autonoma, proattiva e orientata all’apprendimento continuo. * Forte approccio analitico, capacità di data mining e attenzione ai dettagli. * Ottima conoscenza della lingua inglese (requisito indispensabile). * Conoscenza avanzata del pacchetto Office (requisito obbligatorio). * Familiarità con i concetti di SPC e con strumenti di problem solving; la conoscenza di FMEA, 8D, data mining e data analysis costituirà titolo preferenziale. The role involves supporting the Engineering and Manufacturing teams, with a focus on managing and controlling micro- and nano-fabrication processes for metal thin-film deposition, including Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and electroplating processes. Equipment Ownership & Uptime * Serve as primary owner for assigned tools, especially, AMAT SuperE, AMAT DPS systems. * Maintain and continuously improve OEE, MTBF, and MTTR targets. * Develop and maintain equipment health monitoring and baseline control (SPC, FDC, fault codes, alarms). * Drive daily tool performance reviews, documenting issues, actions, and recovery plans. 2\. Maintenance & Troubleshooting * Plan, execute, and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) activities according to OEM recommendations and fab strategies. * Perform complex troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, vacuum, RF, gas delivery, and software subsystems. * Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for chronic and high‑impact issues using structured methods (8D, Fishbone, 5‑Why, etc.). * Coordinate and supervise vendor field service engineers (FSEs) and contractors during major interventions, upgrades, and rebuilds. 3\. Process / Equipment Interaction * Work closely with process engineering to ensure equipment performance supports CD, profile, uniformity, selectivity, and defectivity requirements. * Analyze tool logs, SPC charts, metrology data, and wafer maps to correlate equipment conditions with yield and parametric performance. * Support process qualifications, chamber swaps, hardware changes, and recipe releases. * Ensure correct implementation and maintenance of chamber matching between AMAT and TEL tools. 4\. Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction * Identify and implement improvement projects to increase uptime, extend parts lifetime, and reduce operating cost. * Optimize consumables usage and spare parts strategy (buffer stock, repair vs. replace, refurbishment plans). * Participate in or lead CIP / Lean / Six Sigma projects for productivity and quality enhancement. * Support capacity upgrades (chamber additions, throughput improvement, software enhancements). 5\. Documentation, Procedure & Training * Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting guides for AMAT SuperE, AMAT DPS. * Document all events, alarms, interventions, and changes in the equipment history system (EHS/CMMS). * Provide technical training and coaching to equipment technicians, junior engineers, and shift personnel. * Ensure compliance with change management process for hardware, software, and recipe modifications. 6\. Safety & Compliance * Ensure all activities follow EHS regulations, company safety rules, and cleanroom protocols. * Conduct and support risk assessments, LOTO procedures, and safety audits for gas, chemical, RF, and high‑voltage systems. * Support compliance with ISO/Automotive/Quality Management Systems as applicable. YOUR ROLE * Maintain and support day‑to‑day manufacturing operations through real‑time problem analysis and immediate implementation of effective solutions. * Ensure smooth equipment operation and process flow—delivering high quality, high yield, and low cost—by working closely with Tool Owners, Tool Specialists, and Production Supervisors to achieve overall committed production targets. * Provide real‑time troubleshooting for equipment failures, eSTAR/FDC alarms, and SPC violations. * Manage and monitor equipment performance using Statistical Process Control (SPC). * Work with Engineer to perform analysis and follow-up on all reported fab yields and D0 problems * Follow up on PM/CM qualifications to ensure equipment operates within specifications and can be returned to Manufacturing in the shortest possible time. * Assist in maintaining process quality and supporting process standardization for product and process industrialization. * Work with Engineer to ensure all processes are documented with properly written and clearly defined procedures in the system. * Manage and follow up on Lots on Hold. * Carry out Process Qualifications and Evaluations (trial runs) for SWR or split lots. * Ensure proper passdown with all process/tool details and actions taken, clearly listed inside the passdown report * Engage and participate in continuous improvement projects. * Lead and manage the team by setting clear priorities and achieving results through effective communication YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES * Degree in relevant engineering * Minimum 2 year’s relevant experience in semi-conductor process engineering. * Proactive attitude, independent and willing to work under stressful environment. * Good communication and reporting skills * Fast learner of new technical issues * Engineering data analysis skills * Multi-tasking ability ST is proud to be one of the 17 companies certified as a 2026 Global Top Employer and the first and only semiconductor company to achieve this distinction. Process / Equipment Interaction * Work closely with process engineering to ensure equipment performance supports CD, profile, uniformity, selectivity, and defectivity requirements. * Analyze tool logs, SPC charts, metrology data, and wafer maps to correlate equipment conditions with yield and parametric performance. * Support process qualifications, chamber swaps, hardware changes, and recipe releases. 4\. Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction * Identify and implement improvement projects to increase uptime, extend parts lifetime, and reduce operating cost. * Optimize consumables usage and spare parts strategy (buffer stock, repair vs. replace, refurbishment plans). * Participate in or lead CIP / Lean / Six Sigma projects for productivity and quality enhancement. * Support capacity upgrades (chamber additions, throughput improvement, software enhancements). 5\. Documentation, Procedure & Training * Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting guides * Document all events, alarms, interventions, and changes in the equipment history system (EHS/CMMS). * Provide technical training and coaching to equipment technicians, junior engineers, and shift personnel. * Ensure compliance with change management process for hardware, software, and recipe modifications. 6\.
