The role is within Flight Control Systems department which is a part of the Aircraft System Integration area within the Engineering Directorate. The purpose of the role is to carry out Software Model-Based Design activities within scope of Flight Control System development for FCS conventional programs (AW169, AW189, AW101, AW249, AW139MKII), Tiltrotor programs (NEXTGEN) and UAV programs. Main Tasks: • Analysis of FCS system requirements driving SW design • Production of FCS SW Model Based Design, in compliance with system level requirements allocated to FCS SW items, using Matlab/Simulink toolchain and/or LHD proprietary tool • Production of the Model Based Software Requirements Specification and management of their validation/traceability with respect to system requirements allocated to FCS SW items • Integration of the Model Based Design artifacts in the Simulink Test Environment (STE) and ensure the functionality of the integrated STE • Management of Configuration Control of the Model Based Design artifacts according to applicable procedures and standards • Support software integration and system/software test activities in FCS test environment (VDE, RIG, and STE) • Design analysis, troubleshooting and debugging on simulated or real platform • Management of design changes throughout development life cycle • Preparation of technical documentation for reporting or peer/formal reviews • Management of Technical Design Review presenting Model Based Design to the relevant stakeholders • Planning and progress reporting Education & Experience: • Master Degree in one of following relevant engineering subjects: Computer Sciences, Electronic, Aerospace Engineering or similar • 3+ years experience in Model Based SW development Technical Skills: • Experience in software implementation for aerospace applications (DO-178B or DO-178C standards) • Experience in design for DAL-A SW for safety critical systems • Knowledge and appreciation of the full Software Engineering life-cycle • Experience with Model-Based Design using Matlab/Simulink modeling language or SCADE • Experience with real-time embedded software • Experience with software testing and troubleshooting on real or simulated target • Experience with relevant software development documentation: Software Requirement Specification, Software Design Document, Interface Requirement Specification, Software Configuration Index etc... • Knowledge of systems engineering tools and methodologies for requirements management and modeling, configuration control, task management: UML/SysML, IBM Rational DOORS, Serena Dimension CM, JIRA Soft Skills: • Ability to communicate equally across multi-functional teams, and with colleagues at all levels • Collaborative and proactive • Analytical and organized in the day-by-day activity Language: • Proficient in English language, both oral and written Desirable Requirements: • Basic knowledge of control system design and theory • Basic experience in software developing (ADA and C/C++ programming language) • Experience with HW/SW integration activity Seniority: Junior Primary Location: IT - Varese - Cascina Costa Contract Type: Permanent Total Base Pay Range: 32.731,92 - 43.000 Hybrid Working: Hybrid
