YOUR ROLE The Data Engineer Intern will support our Materials Engineering initiatives through a data engineering approach by contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, data workflows, and analytical tools. Working closely with the Data Engineering team and relevant stakeholders, the intern will help improve data accessibility, quality, and processing efficiency. This internship offers hands-on experience with real-world data engineering projects and the opportunity to contribute to impactful solutions in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities * Support the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and reliable data pipelines across various systems and platforms. * Assist with data extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), preprocessing, and validation to improve data quality and consistency. * Contribute to the development and optimization of data processing workflows to ensure timely and accurate data delivery. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. * Assist in documentation, testing, and continuous improvement of data engineering processes and tools. * Depending on project needs, support data-related activities connected to materials engineering or other technical domains. Skills & Qualifications * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Data Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field. * Familiarity with data processing frameworks and technologies such as Databricks, Apache Airflow, Spark, and/or SQL databases. * Proficiency in Python programming. * Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. * Good communication and teamwork skills. * Experience with data visualization, scripting, or web development is a plus. * Minimum internship duration: 3 months or longer ST is proud to be one of the 17 companies certified as a 2025 Global Top Employer and the first and only semiconductor company to achieve this distinction.
