Facilities Cleanroom Technician Job Description The Facilities Cleanroom Technician is responsible for the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance of cleanroom facilities and related systems to ensure a safe, stable, and reliable production environment. This role supports the Facilities Cleanroom Engineer in executing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and implementing improvement activities in the cleanroom. Key Responsibilities * Perform routine checks and monitoring of critical cleanroom environmental parameters (e.g. temperature, relative humidity, ESD, AMC, differential pressure, cleanliness class). * Record, update, and maintain operational logs, checklists, and reports for cleanroom and facilities systems. * Escalate abnormalities or out-of-spec conditions promptly to the Facilities Cleanroom Engineer or supervisor. * Operate and support maintenance of the following systems under the guidance of the Facilities Cleanroom Engineer: * HVAC / air-conditioning systems * FFU (Fan Filter Units) * Ionizers and ESD control systems * Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) systems * Building elements (e.g. doors, windows, partitions, flooring) * Lighting systems * Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, inspections, and cleaning according to established procedures and schedules. * Assist in troubleshooting equipment and system issues, including basic corrective actions and parts replacement. * Respond promptly to production line requests, alarms, and facilities-related issues in the cleanroom. * Support containment activities during facilities or environmental incidents as directed by the Facilities Cleanroom Engineer. * Provide on-the-ground feedback, data, and observations to support root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). * Follow established maintenance procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines strictly. * Complete work orders, checklists, and job reports accurately and in a timely manner. * Assist in updating maintenance records, equipment history, and spare parts usage in relevant systems or logs. * Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with local regulations, standards, and company policies. * Support the management of spare parts and consumables, including receipt, labeling, storage, and issuance. * Provide feedback on stock condition and usage to enable timely replenishment. * Escort, supervise, and coordinate external contractors during maintenance, repair, and project activities in the cleanroom and facilities areas. * Ensure contractors adhere to safety rules, cleanroom protocols, and permit-to-work requirements. * Assist the Facilities Cleanroom Engineer in execution of improvement, retrofit, and optimization works (e.g. shutdown activities, system upgrades, layout changes). * Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping in facilities and cleanroom support areas. * Comply with and promote safety rules, risk control measures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage. * Participate in safety walks, 5S activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. Job Requirements * NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Building Services, or related technical discipline; or equivalent technical certification. * Prior experience in facilities, building services, or cleanroom operations in a manufacturing environment is an advantage. * Basic understanding of HVAC, air distribution, and cleanroom concepts is preferred. * Able to interpret basic technical drawings, equipment manuals, and standard operating procedures. * Hands-on skills, equipment maintenance servicing, and routine troubleshooting. * Strong sense of responsibility, with attention to detail and adherence to procedures. * Good problem-solving attitude and willingness to learn from senior technicians and engineers. * Ability to respond to call-ins when required. * Team players with good communication skills to interact effectively with engineers, production, and contractors. * Positive, proactive, and safety-conscious mindset in a fast-paced manufacturing/ cleanroom environment.
