Working closely with the MRP Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely and efficient supply of materials and components to support our manufacturing and assembly operations. Your impact You will be responsible for coordinating material availability in line with the Master Production Plan, ensuring that the right parts are available, in the right quantities, at the right time. By proactively identifying and resolving potential material shortages or supply issues, you will help keep production running smoothly and ensure customer and business requirements are met. Working collaboratively across Production, Purchasing, Stores, Planning and other key departments, you will help maintain an effective flow of materials throughout the business. Your ability to anticipate issues, communicate effectively and take action will be essential in supporting on-time delivery and the achievement of wider business objectives. For the awareness of internal applicants, this role is a JFF level 4. What you will do as a Production Controller: Production Order Management Launch production orders as required by the plan Split production orders and ensure all data is correctly transferred Close rework and labour-only production orders, ensuring all operations are clocked Generate statistics/ reports for manufacturing shop regarding WIP Monitor and action WIP for incorrect clocking’s / move days etc. Update production order status/ comments where applicable i.e. quarantine Action shop queries i.e. serial number issues Ensure all data tidy up activities are completed e.g. CNF not DEL/ DEL not CNF/ delivered production orders with outstanding requirements and WIP not clocked. Shortages/ Kitting Run shortage reviews with other departments to expedite and prioritise parts and review forecasts against requirements. Identify risks associated with shortages or deliveries and escalate as appropriate Ensure BOM in the production order is accurate to requirements. Liaise with logistics provider to ensure the kitting activity is being actioned accurately and in a timely manner, including raw material launch. Liaise with direct line feed contact to ensure any stock outs are expedited. Audit kitting rack to ensure all kits are still required and are accurate. Action non-conforming parts by returning them to stores and obtaining a replacement – reviewing/ updating QN as required. Deal with any shop query regarding shortages or parts supply. Offload Operations Load all outgoing work on the offload rail and prioritise. Resolve issues with offload including paperwork amendments. Escalate priority parts. Complete other activities to support the manufacturing shops as requested including, but not restricted to: Review order book and identify any problems parts/ risks Update “CH” dates and expediting notes in customer orders as requested Provide line of balance for all build/ spares/ NPI requirements Maintain build sheets – forecast / comments etc. Progress monitoring of specific parts with the manufacturing shop Assist in reporting / obtaining information for the SAP system What you’ll bring HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable. Strong educational background, with demonstrated knowledge, capability and competence gained through relevant work experience. High level of integrity and professionalism, with a reliable and conscientious approach to work. Strong team player with a collaborative, customer-focused approach. Good understanding of company quality systems and procedures. Computer literate, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications. Practical working knowledge of SAP, particularly within Material Management and Production Planning modules. Good understanding of manufacturing processes, with an appreciation of MRP principles and effective material supply. Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organisation. The Challenge: To create dynamic computer models for internal and external simulation environments to assess the performance and capability of weapon systems. Complex systems are modelled primarily in MATLAB/Simulink, exercised to answer customer questions, and exported for integration into customers’ modelling environments. The role will report to the Project Engineering Lead for Supply Chain Improvement Team and support the Project Engineering Manager (PEM) and Programme Leadership Team in delivering the programme's technical, cost, quality and schedule objectives. The successful candidate will act as the subject matter expert for PCB technologies, manufacturing processes and supplier capability development, supporting the transition of complex PCB designs from development through to high-yield, repeatable production. Working across engineering, manufacturing, quality and supply chain functions, the role will play a critical part in ensuring the programme can achieve its delivery commitments within an increasingly challenging electronic manufacturing supply landscape. What you'll do as the Lead PCB Technical Specialist You will play a major role in providing technical leadership and specialist guidance across all aspects of PCB manufacture, supplier development and product industrialisation. As a Lead PCB Technical Specialist you will offer technical direction, evaluation, and recommendations relating to manufacturing risks and opportunities, while also defining strategic capability improvements and cost-reduction initiatives across the PCB supply chain to support long-term business objectives. You will: Act as the technical lead for PCB manufacturing and industrialisation activities across the Mk2 Programme. Own the technical strategy for the manufacture of highly complex PCB assemblies, ensuring designs are capable of achieving reliable, repeatable and cost-effective production. Work closely with the Project Engineering Lead & Programme Manager to ensure cost and time trade-offs are undertaken and establish technical solutions coherent with agreed budgets and programme timescales. Lead technical engagement with PCB manufacturers and key supply chain partners. Conduct detailed assessments of supplier manufacturing capability, process maturity and technical risk. Lead supplier development and supply chain maturity activities to improve manufacturing performance, quality, yield and capacity. Identify manufacturing process weaknesses and drive corrective and preventive improvement initiatives within supplier organisations. Ensure programme capacity, yield and cost targets are achieved in both the short and long term. Provide Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) guidance to engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle. Lead reviews of manufacturing readiness, production risk and technical compliance. Communicate technical risks, issues and opportunities to the Project Chief Engineer and Programme Leadership Team. Support configuration control, qualification, verification and acceptance activities associated with PCB production. Represent Leonardo when engaging with customers, senior leadership and external stakeholders to define and deliver technical solutions. What you'll bring A minimum of 10 years' experience in PCB development, manufacture and industrialisation. Extensive experience in the manufacture of highly complex multilayer and high-reliability PCB products. Deep technical expertise in PCB fabrication, assembly and manufacturing technologies. Proven experience of taking PCB products from development and low-yield production through to stable, high-yield manufacturing. Strong understanding of PCB process capability, yield management and manufacturing quality systems. Experience of identifying supplier process weaknesses and implementing effective improvement plans. Experience working directly with PCB fabricators and assembly houses to resolve complex technical and manufacturing challenges. Strong knowledge of DfM and DfA principles and their application to complex electronic products. Experience leading supplier technical assessments, audits and manufacturing readiness reviews. Understanding of capacity planning, supply chain resilience and manufacturing risk management. This role will lead and manage a multi-disciplinary engineering team to deliver the project, working in a in a highly collaborative environment. The PEL will provide the engineering leadership, in close partnership with the Project Engineering Manager, and Chief Engineer, to identify, develop, deliver and support technical solutions. The PEL is responsible for providing engineering leadership to a multi-disciplinary engineering team throughout the project lifecycle to deliver the project’s plan on time, in budget and to quality standards. This will include ensuring that lifecycle reviews are held, that reporting mechanisms are in place, that a high level of motivation is maintained within the team and ensuring a consistently high level of performance is achieved by the team. The successful candidate will ensure the engineering team delivers the "best value" solution compliant with the customer's technical and budgetary requirements as well as all contractual, safety and legislative standards. The Project Engineering Lead for the AESA and Power Core Delivery Team will: Produce effective, efficient and realistic plans to deliver the solution, working closely and effectively with all stakeholders. Ensure effective implementation of the company's Lifecycle Management processes, including design & gate reviews. Agree qualification & acceptance criteria and design certification with the System Design Authority. Validate and meet targets for the development of design maturity. Deliver all engineering aspects of the monthly Project Performance Reviews. Promote streamlined ways of working across the engineering lifecycle in order to be competitive, ensuring re-use and modularity across proposed solutions. Establish and maintain good lines of communication across the Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) and upwards to the IPT lead and Engineering Leadership, managing and communicating any issues to senior management.
