Within the Engineering area, we are seeking a Autonomy Software Engineer for our office in Cascina Costa (VA) . ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for an Autonomy Software Engineer to help build the software foundations of our autonomy activity. This is not a pure implementation role: you will investigate methodologies, software paradigms and design approaches, and turn them into reusable frameworks, reference architectures and engineering procedures that the wider team can build on. The position combines hands-on autonomy software development with a genuine research and exploration mandate. WHAT YOU WILL DO Investigate and evaluate software methodologies, paradigms, design patterns and tooling for dependable autonomy software; produce trade studies, reference architectures, guidelines and procedures. — Design and prototype reusable frameworks and infrastructure for deterministic — autonomy software. —Bridge research-grade components and robust, production-quality deployment, including partitioning and mixed-criticality concepts. —Build internal tooling and test / CI harnesses for deterministic validation. —Contribute to the team's technical direction, coding standards and best practices, and mentor other engineers. —Move fluidly between speculative exploration (prototypes, proofs of concept, open problems) and rigorous, production-grade code. Requirements: WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Master degree/PHD in information engineering/computer Engineering/Automation Engineering 3–6 years of professional experience in software development in modern C++ (C++14/17). Hands-on familiarity with our core stack: Docker, PX4, ROS 2, Gazebo and the C++ robotics ecosystem (BehaviorTree.CPP, OpenCV, PCL, Eigen, etc.). Hands-on experience deploying ML / autonomy workloads on-target on GPU architectures (e.g. NVIDIA Jetson). Proven experience in at least one autonomy-related domain: robotics, ADAS / automotive, space, UAV(s) or similar. Strong computer-science fundamentals: concurrency, memory models, scheduling, software architecture and design patterns. A research and investigative mindset: the ability to frame open problems, explore options independently and reason from first principles. Comfort reading technical standards and specifications and translating them into concrete engineering procedures. Ability to work in team Problem solving oriented English knowledge: B2/C1 NICE TO HAVE —Background in any safety- / mission-critical domain (e.g. aerospace, automotive, railway, medical, industrial or defence). —Experience with RTOS, bare-metal or deterministic execution environments. —Formal methods, static analysis (e.g. MISRA) or model checking. —Open-source contributions, publications or patents. YOUR ROLE The Process Engineer – Leadframe Process & Tooling Expert is responsible for the development, optimization, and sustaining of assembly leadframe processes, with primary ownership of Lead Lock Tape and Lead Trimming operations. The role ensures process robustness, tooling readiness, yield improvement, equipment performance, and continuous manufacturing excellence in a high-volume semiconductor assembly environment * Own and sustain Lead Lock Tape and Lead Trimming assembly processes. * Define, optimize, and troubleshoot process parameters to ensure stable output, high yield, and product quality. * Support tooling design, qualification, modification, and troubleshooting for leadframe and assembly operations. * Investigate process and tooling issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. * Lead process improvement activities using structured problem-solving and data-driven methods. * Support new product introduction (NPI), process transfer, qualification, and ramp-up activities. * Collaborate with Production, Quality, Equipment, Maintenance, and Tooling teams to resolve technical issues. * Conduct process capability analysis, DOE, SPC, and yield loss studies. * Drive scrap reduction, cycle time improvement, productivity enhancement, and cost reduction initiatives. * Maintain and update process documentation such as SOPs, control plans, specifications, and troubleshooting guides. * Support vendor coordination for tooling development, repair, and technical improvement. * Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturing standards. * Train and coach operators, technicians, and junior engineers on process best practices YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field. * Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor assembly or manufacturing process engineering, preferably in high-volume manufacturing. * Strong hands-on experience in leadframe process engineering, with proven experience in Lead Lock Tape and/or Lead Trimming processes. * Solid background in tooling support, qualification, troubleshooting, and process optimization. * Experience supporting semiconductor back-end assembly operations and exposure to leadframe stamping, plating, trimming, and forming processes is preferred. * Strong knowledge of process control and problem-solving tools such as SPC, DOE, FMEA, 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone Analysis. * Ability to analyze data and drive decisions using tools such as Excel, Minitab, or equivalent. * Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is preferred. * Experience in customer issue resolution and reliability investigations is an advantage. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on technical mindset and ownership attitude. * Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills. * Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain strong attention to detail. * Continuous improvement mindset with strong process discipline. * Willing to work in a manufacturing/assembly environment with frequent presence on the production floor and occasional support outside normal working hours as needed.
