IL TUO RUOLO Nell’ambito della linea produttiva di semiconduttori da 200 mm con sede ad Agrate, è aperta una posizione finalizzata al rafforzamento del team di Process Engineering PVD. La risorsa selezionata sarà coinvolta in attività di controllo di processo, troubleshooting, analisi dati e miglioramento continuo, con l’obiettivo di supportare una produzione stabile, efficiente e di elevata qualità. In qualità di PVD Process Engineer Intern, la risorsa si occuperà di: * Operare e ottimizzare i tool di deposizione di metalli tramite tecnica PVD, definendo e mettendo a punto le ricette di processo al fine di garantire qualità, stabilità e ripetibilità dei processi. * Eseguire il monitoraggio del processo e le attività di troubleshooting, incluse qualifiche macchina, analisi difetti, monitoraggio SPC e FDC, per assicurare prestazioni di processo stabili e costanti. * Analizzare i dati di processo e di metrologia per individuare opportunità di miglioramento, condurre analisi delle root cause e implementare azioni correttive e preventive volte a incrementare resa, throughput e stabilità di processo. * Aggiornare la documentazione di processo e le Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in funzione delle modifiche e dei miglioramenti introdotti. * Collaborare con i team cross-funzionali, inclusi R&D, produzione e quality assurance. * Partecipare attivamente alle riunioni di team e alle attività di problem solving, fornendo supporto a process ed equipment engineers e al team di manufacturing. * Contribuire alle iniziative di miglioramento continuo finalizzate ad aumentare efficienza, resa e qualità, individuando e implementando anche opportunità di automazione dei processi. ESPERIENZA E COMPETENZE RICHIESTE * Studente/Studentessa o Laureato/a in Scienze dei Materiali, Fisica, Chimica o Ingegneria (elettronica, fisica, chimica, dei materiali). * Capacità di guidare e partecipare a team di problem solving cross-funzionali. * Ottime doti relazionali e comunicative. * Attitudine autonoma, proattiva e orientata all’apprendimento continuo. * Forte approccio analitico, capacità di data mining e attenzione ai dettagli. * Ottima conoscenza della lingua inglese (requisito indispensabile). * Conoscenza avanzata del pacchetto Office (requisito obbligatorio). * Familiarità con i concetti di SPC e con strumenti di problem solving; la conoscenza di FMEA, 8D, data mining e data analysis costituirà titolo preferenziale. YOUR ROLE We are looking for a motivated and passionate candidate for the position of Process Engineer in the Metal Deposition module of the FEM–AG300 organization. The role involves supporting the Engineering and Manufacturing teams, with a focus on managing and controlling micro- and nano-fabrication processes for metal thin-film deposition, including Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and electroplating processes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Ensure the robustness and manufacturability of the processes with recipe optimization, process window and robustness tasks • Sustain manufacturing process and equipment troubleshooting • Monitor process performance and yield with SPC, defect analysis and FDC • Startup new equipment and perform process qualification • Prepare and optimize operative procedure and work instruction • Troubleshoot excursions and drive root-cause analysis (8D) to restore process stability YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES • Master’s degree in material science, physics, chemistry, engineering or related fields • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Good ability to analyze complex data and use tools for statistical analysis • Good knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken • Motivation to work in a dynamic environment with different teams and external suppliers • Teamwork attitude • Basic understanding of semiconductor physics and microfabrication processes ST is proud to be one of the 17 companies certified as a 2025 Global Top Employer and the first and only semiconductor company to achieve this distinction. The role supports semiconductor manufacturing by ensuring process stability, film quality, equipment matching, defect control, and production yield improvement. Key responsibilities: * Develop and optimize metal PVD deposition processes on AMAT tools. * Support process qualification, ramp-up, and transfer to high-volume manufacturing. * Monitor and improve key process metrics, including Film thickness, Sheet resistance, Uniformity, Adhesion, Stress, Defectivity, Yield * Perform tool setup, chamber matching, and baseline process tuning. * Troubleshoot process excursions, tool drift, abnormal defects, and yield loss issues. * Analyze metrology, SPC, and inline data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. * Collaborate with equipment, integration, yield, and production teams. * Support preventive maintenance, chamber health checks, and process stability initiatives. * Drive continuous improvement to reduce cost, cycle time, and process variation. * Document process procedures, specifications, and control plans. YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES * Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or similar * 5 years of PVD process engineer experiences * Extensive knowledge of Metal deposition processes. YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES * Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or similar * 5 years of PVD process engineer experiences * Extensive knowledge of Tungsten deposition and etch back processes. * Experiences with primarily AMAT Centura tool type. YOUR ROLE As a Senior Thin Film PVD Process Engineer, you will be the technical owner of Endura process such as TANTA-Cu process, typical sputtering Ti, TiN, CVD-TiN, TiW processes etc. You will drive process development and sustaining activities; working closely with equipment engineering to characterize hardware, resolve complex issues, and continuously improve process and equipment robustness. * Involvement in Endura process recipe development, optimization, technology transfer from sister fabs. * Handle Endura process related line quality issues. Lead troubleshooting and excursion management, conduct systematic root‑cause analysis, and implement permanent corrective and preventive actions.. * Perform structured hardware and process characterization study. YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics, Materials Science, Applied Physics, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. * 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Endura sputtering processes (especially Cu process), solid knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, vacuum technology. * Strong collaboration and communication skills: able to document and present findings clearly through technical reports, reviews, and data summaries; active participation in cross‑functional forums and project teams. * Proven problem‑solving capability, including advanced root‑cause analysis, failure‑mode identification, and implementation of robust, sustainable solutions.
