Our technology starts with you. --- VOTRE ROLE: En tant que doctorant, vous travaillerez sur des algorithmes avancés pour la réduction des interférences dans le contexte d’un processeur pour radars MIMO FMCW pour l’automobile, embarque sur véhicule : • Tout d’abord une recherche de l’état de l’art sur les méthodes existantes sera effectuée • Vous chercherez à comprendre les avantages et les limitations de ces méthodes • Vous chercherez de nouvelles méthodes pour améliorer l’efficacité de la réduction d’interférences dans un environnement difficile et perturbé, d’abord d’un point de vue théorique • Vous implémenterez ces méthodes dans un modèle (Matlab) de la chaine RF et du traitement du signal, qui doit être amélioré, pour démontrer leur efficacité dans divers scénarios, puis viendra leur amélioration et affinage. • Ensuite vous implémenterez les méthodes les plus intéressantes en un code C sur un DSP réel dans une puce radar. • Puis, vous testerez les méthodes les plus prometteuses sur un capteur radar d’essai où la puce qui tourne les algorithmes fonctionne sur le terrain, avec de vrais capteurs qui créent des interférences, dans divers scenarios. • Si le temps le permet, le travail de traitement du signal pourra être étendu à d’autres sujets comme la recherche et à l’implémentation sur DSP d’algorithmes avancés de super-résolution de DoA (Recherche de direction d’arrivée), après suppression des interférences. VOS COMPÉTENCES & EXPÉRIENCES • Master ou diplôme d’ingénieur en électronique, logiciel ou traitement du signal • Bonne connaissance et intérêt pour les mathématiques appliquées • Intérêt et bonne connaissance du traitement numérique du signal en temps réel, si possible pour le radar ou pour les communications • Bon niveau d’anglais scientifique (écrit et oral) • Autonomie, avec un soutien d’équipe (France, Italie) • Connaissance des principaux logiciels mathématiques (Matlab ou Python/SciPy) • Quelques connaissances en programmation de code DSP, ou volonté d’apprendre YOUR ROLE As a PhD student, you will work on advanced algorithms for interference mitigation in the context of Edge processor for automotive MIMO FMCW radars * First make a state-of-the-art search on existing methods * Understand the pros and limitations of those methods * Search for new methods to improve effectiveness of mitigation in a harsh environment, first from a theoretical point of view * Implement those methods in a (Matlab) model of the RF and signal processing flow, to be improved, to show their effectiveness in various scenarios and improve and fine-tune them * Then implement the interesting methods on real DSP Hardware * Then try the most promising methods in a test sensor where the chip that runs the algorithms is running, in the field, with real interfering sensor(s) * If time allows, the signal processing work may be extended to Advanced super-resolution DoA (direction of arrival) algorithm search and DSP implementation after interferences have been removed.     Job Description: Leonardo has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer. The role offers a blend of hybrid home and onsite working from any of our Bristol, Basildon, Luton or Southampton sites. The role is within the Integrated Sensing and Protection (ISP) business area. The role will entail dealing with multiple internal and external clients on a project by project basis to develop and deliver world class concept and system designs. We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join the engineering team to cover an exciting and growing large scale military and commercial satellite communications development project. This role will involve being part of an exciting programme, working to deliver key technologies for the future. Working within a multi-disciplined team, you will be responsible for developing requirements, Matlab modelling and contributing to the RF design analysis, integration and test phase. The role will include reviewing, assessing and providing technical guidance throughout the engineering design process. Development of modelling codes (Matlab) for specific RF technical analysis. Engagement in engineering technical meetings and suppliers. Being a key team member contributing to the RF and system design as well as the test and integration activities. Assessment of the design integrity of the design prior to formal design reviews. Working across the full engineering lifecycle. Managing all levels of requirements to enable design and development decisions. Influencing requirements and design decisions Reporting to key project stakeholders. Actively supporting knowledge sharing and exploitation of best practice. Producing effective, accurate and concise technical reports and analysis to support key technical decisions for the programme. Establishing and maintaining good lines of communication across the Engineering IPT and upwards to the IPT lead and Engineering Leadership Delivering to agreed performance targets Supporting the teams working in an Agile manner. Understanding and demonstrated experience in Satellite. Experience in the design, integration and roll out of Military Satellite Communications Systems - covering space, control and ground segments. Proficient in Matlab and/or other coding languages. Ability to produce clear concise engineering documentation. Good written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to travel within the UK and possibly overseas.
