Key Responsibilities 1\. Equipment Ownership & Uptime * Serve as primary owner for assigned tools, such as Trymax, Axcelis, Mattson tools * Maintain and continuously improve OEE, MTBF, and MTTR targets. * Develop and maintain equipment health monitoring and baseline control (SPC, FDC, fault codes, alarms). * Drive daily tool performance reviews, documenting issues, actions, and recovery plans. 2\. Maintenance & Troubleshooting * Plan, execute, and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) activities according to OEM recommendations and fab strategies. * Perform complex troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, vacuum, RF, gas delivery, and software subsystems. * Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for chronic and high‑impact issues using structured methods (8D, Fishbone, 5‑Why, etc.). * Coordinate and supervise vendor field service engineers (FSEs) and/or contractors during major interventions, upgrades, and rebuilds. 3\. Process / Equipment Interaction * Work closely with process engineering to ensure equipment performance supports CD, profile, uniformity, selectivity, and defectivity requirements. * Analyze tool logs, SPC charts, metrology data, and wafer maps to correlate equipment conditions with yield and parametric performance. * Support process qualifications, chamber swaps, hardware changes, and recipe releases. 4\. Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction * Identify and implement improvement projects to increase uptime, extend parts lifetime, and reduce operating cost. * Optimize consumables usage and spare parts strategy (buffer stock, repair vs. replace, refurbishment plans). * Participate in or lead CIP / Lean / Six Sigma projects for productivity and quality enhancement. * Support capacity upgrades (chamber additions, throughput improvement, software enhancements). 5\. Documentation, Procedure & Training * Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting guides * Document all events, alarms, interventions, and changes in the equipment history system (EHS/CMMS). * Provide technical training and coaching to equipment technicians, junior engineers, and shift personnel. * Ensure compliance with change management process for hardware, software, and recipe modifications. 6\. Safety & Compliance * Ensure all activities follow EHS regulations, company safety rules, and cleanroom protocols. * Conduct and support risk assessments, LOTO procedures, and safety audits for gas, chemical, RF, and high‑voltage systems. * Support compliance with ISO/Automotive/Quality Management Systems as applicable. Job Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related discipline. * Minimum 2–5 years of relevant manufacturing or semiconductor process engineering experience. * Hands-on experience in electroplating processes is strongly preferred. * Experience in resist stripping, wet chemical processes, surface treatment, or semiconductor plating processes is an advantage. * Knowledge of process control, SPC, DOE, FMEA, Control Plan, and structured problem-solving methodologies. * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. * Experience in electroplating process optimization and troubleshooting. * Knowledge of plating thickness and uniformity control. * Experience in chemical bath monitoring and process control. * Familiarity with resist stripping and wet chemical processes. * Demonstrated ability to drive yield improvement and defect reduction. * Able to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. * Good communication and teamwork skills. Process Ownership & Recipe Setup * Serve as primary owner for assigned processes for Trymax and Axcelis tools etc * Set-up process recipe of newly introduced processes or new process equipment or tools * Evaluate the new processes and make a series of process characterization * Perform DOE and FMEA on critical process or equipment 2\. Process Quality Robustness * Make engineering decisions on a variety of technical issue to maintain and control yield. * Ensure implementation of process procedures and SPC control, and sustain an effective quality system in place. * Work with Device / Process control / EWS / QA engineers to improve Fab and EWS yield through methodologies of DOE, PDCA, or SDCA cycles. * Responsible for process problem analysis and implement corrective and/or preventive actions * Daily monitor and control the process system by SPC on input parameters and process output control parameters 3\. Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction * Identify opportunities and initiate actions to improve the yield performance, productivity, cycle time, and quality and cost. * Work on cost saving through minimizing material waste, process downtime reduction, increasing throughput, and removing redundant process steps. * Improving cycle time by exploring any opportunity on process capability, line layout, increasing equipment throughput and improving tools stability. Equipment Ownership & Uptime * Serve as primary owner for assigned tools, such as Trymax and Axcelis tools * Maintain and continuously improve OEE, MTBF, and MTTR targets. * Develop and maintain equipment health monitoring and baseline control (SPC, FDC, fault codes, alarms). * Drive daily tool performance reviews, documenting issues, actions, and recovery plans. 2\. Maintenance & Troubleshooting * Plan, execute, and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) activities according to OEM recommendations and fab strategies. * Perform complex troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, vacuum, RF, gas delivery, and software subsystems. * Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for chronic and high‑impact issues using structured methods (8D, Fishbone, 5‑Why, etc.). * Coordinate and supervise vendor field service engineers (FSEs) and contractors during major interventions, upgrades, and rebuilds. 3\. Process / Equipment Interaction * Work closely with process engineering to ensure equipment performance supports CD, profile, uniformity, selectivity, and defectivity requirements. * Analyze tool logs, SPC charts, metrology data, and wafer maps to correlate equipment conditions with yield and parametric performance. * Support process qualifications, chamber swaps, hardware changes, and recipe releases. * Ensure correct implementation and maintenance of chamber matching. 4\. Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction * Identify and implement improvement projects to increase uptime, extend parts lifetime, and reduce operating cost. * Optimize consumables usage and spare parts strategy (buffer stock, repair vs. replace, refurbishment plans). * Participate in or lead CIP / Lean / Six Sigma projects for productivity and quality enhancement. * Support capacity upgrades (chamber additions, throughput improvement, software enhancements). 5\. Documentation, Procedure & Training * Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting guides. * Document all events, alarms, interventions, and changes in the equipment history system (EHS/CMMS). * Provide technical training and coaching to equipment technicians, junior engineers, and shift personnel. * Ensure compliance with change management process for hardware, software, and recipe modifications. 6\. Safety & Compliance * Ensure all activities follow EHS regulations, company safety rules, and cleanroom protocols. * Conduct and support risk assessments, LOTO procedures, and safety audits for gas, chemical, RF, and high‑voltage systems. * Support compliance with ISO/Automotive/Quality Management Systems as applicable.
