Your Impact Leonardo UK Ltd is seeking a Head of Export Compliance, Helicopters to work within its Trade Compliance Function to support the management and control of all aspects of UK Export Control Compliance. As a Head of Export Compliance, Helicopters you will provide business support services including advice and guidance to Leonardo Helicopters functions to ensure the company remains compliant with Customs and Excise Management Act, UK Export Control laws, US Export Control laws and other relevant laws and regulations. Leonardo fully supports flexible/home working. With a home base at Leonardo UK’s Yeovil facilities, and a requirement to be on site 3 days a week as a minimum the role will involve some UK travel and possibly international travel. Reporting to the Head of Trade Compliance UK, this role is responsible for the following: Executes central UK Export Compliance strategy. Leads business partnering within the Helicopters division and heads the operational steerco. Manage escalated queries from the trade compliance function, manage ECJU & HMRC discussions at Unit (Helicopters) level and act as point of contact for new products and contracts. Ensures export activities adhere to UK export & customs regulations, other countries regulations where applicable (ITAR/BAFA/EAR) and internal policies, identifying and mitigating specific risks within the division. Implements the export compliance roadmap for the division, aligning with overarching company objectives. Supports central export audits and conducts internal checks to maintain compliance standards. Delivers and facilitates customs training for relevant divisional stakeholders. What you'll bring The successful candidate will have good proven personal and interpersonal, organisational, time management and planning skills, as well as the ability to work within a multi- functional team. The ability to make independent decisions, demonstrating good problem solving, negotiating and influencing/mediating skills is essential, as are the drive and determination to achieve objectives. The following skills and experience are required: Educated to a degree level, or hold a professional qualification, and at least 5 years’ demonstrable UK customs, licensing and audit experience An experienced practitioner with An in-depth and detailed knowledge of UK Customs and Export Control laws and regulations. An in-depth and detailed knowledge of US ITAR & EAR regulations Prior involvement in regulatory audits. Strong interpersonal/influencing skills to support decision-making based on credible knowledge of Customs and International Trade. Stiamo ricercando n. 1 giovane studente o studentessa da inserire in stage con l’obiettivo di sviluppare la propria tesi di laurea sulla tematica riguardante “L’ Addestramento tramite tecniche di Reinforcement Learning di entità virtuali generate al computer all'interno di un simulatore di volo “presso il sito di Torino. Scopo di questa tesi è lo studio, complementato dallo sviluppo, di un software di controllo di un velivolo sintetico basato su un modello di intelligenza artificiale addestrato con tecniche di Reinforcement Learning. Il controllo di volo è usualmente dominato dalle logiche PID (Proporzionale-Integrale-Derivativo), sebbene efficaci, questi sistemi presentano limiti che il Reinforcement Learning (RL) punta a superare. Un modello RL ha la capacità di apprendere direttamente dall’interazione con l’ambiente e di costruire una rappresentazione implicita di queste dinamiche, riuscendo a catturare comportamenti complessi. A differenza dei parametri fissi di un PID, un agente RL può apprendere una politica di controllo capace di gestire una maggiore varietà di condizioni operative. Grazie all’addestramento in ambienti simulati che includono scenari variabili, l’agente può sviluppare tecniche di controllo più robuste migliorando la stabilità e le prestazioni del sistema. Mentre un PID si focalizza sul ridurre un errore (es. mantenere la quota), il RL può essere addestrato per massimizzare una funzione di ricompensa complessa che integra diversi criteri di prestazione all’interno dello stesso processo di apprendimento. In questo modo, l’agente può essere addestrato a trovare le migliori politiche di controllo che bilancino simultaneamente diversi fattori operativi, come la precisione nel seguire una traiettoria desiderata, il risparmio di carburante e l’integrità strutturale. L’obiettivo principale di questa tesi è la progettazione e l'implementazione di un agente intelligente capace di gestire il controllo dinamico di un velivolo sintetico. Il lavoro si articolerà nelle seguenti fasi: Analisi dei prodotti commerciali ed integrazione: Studio dei simulatori di volo disponibili sul mercato (es. X-Plane 12 o DCS World) come motori di fisica. L'agente AI interagirà con il simulatore tramite API o plugin dedicati, ricevendo in input lo stato del velivolo (assetto, velocità, posizione) e fornendo in output i comandi sulle superfici di controllo; Definizione del Modello di Apprendimento: Progettazione della “reward function” per addestrare l'agente a eseguire manovre specifiche (es: mantenimento del volo livellato, intercettazione di waypoint o manovre evasive) massimizzando i parametri scelti a progetto; Validazione in Ambiente Sintetico: Il modello addestrato verrà integrato in uno scenario complesso, tipico degli standard di addestramento militare, per valutare la capacità dell'AI di reagire a variabili dinamiche e imprevisti ambientali.
