Job Description: Your Impact Leonardo’s Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) Distributed Electro Optics System (DEOS) programme represents one of the most significant next‑generation defence avionics developments in Europe. What You’ll Be Doing • Accountable to the GCAP DEOS Chief Engineer and International SDA, you will act as the UK National Design Authority for GCAP Distributed EO System. • Lead the critical Sensor Head Maturation Programme including prototypes, pre-production C-Models and eventually production development. • Ensure that the jointly developed solution satisfies UK National objectives and aspirations. • Lead system and physical architecture, ensuring alignment across opto-mechanical design and multifunction capability. • Responsible for the embodiment of the design solution and for defining the technical baseline. • Drive systems engineering activities including design development, design verification, validation, qualification test, and authorisation for change management. • Lead concept generation, solution development, and trade studies across the system lifecycle. • Provide technical governance and approval of key engineering artefacts, including compliance matrices and qualification evidence. • Engage with national stakeholders across government, industry partners, and customers. • Ensure integration across subsystem domains including optical, mechanical, hardware and electro-mechanical systems. • Support safety, security, and airworthiness activities. • Lead technical reviews and ensure robust decision-making at system level. What You’ll Bring • Extensive experience in complex systems engineering, ideally within electro-optics, sensing, or advanced electronic systems. • Proven track record in system architecture leadership and design authority roles. • Strong background in concept development and advanced system design. • Ability to operate at programme and national stakeholder level. • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision‑making skills. • Experience within multi-partner defence programmes and familiarity with tools such as DOORS/Teamcenter (desirable). Job Description: Wer Du bist Wir suchen einen erfahrenen Bid & Proposal Manager zur Verstärkung unseres internationalen Bid-Management-Teams an unserem Hauptsitz in Darmstadt. In dieser Rolle verantwortest Du Angebote unterschiedlicher Komplexität und Größenordnung und arbeitest eng mit Business Development, Sales, Engineering sowie weiteren internen und externen Stakeholdern zusammen, um qualitativ hochwertige und wettbewerbsfähige Angebote zu erstellen. Die Position ist unbefristet, in Vollzeit und im hybriden Arbeitsmodell zu besetzen. Der Einstieg ist zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt vorgesehen. Deine Aufgaben Du steuerst Angebote und Ausschreibungen von der initialen Planung bis zur finalen Einreichung. Du leitest und koordinierst interdisziplinäre Bid-Teams und betreust mehrere Angebote parallel. Du analysierst Kundenanforderungen und stellst sicher, dass unsere Angebote vollständig, qualitativ hochwertig und konform mit den jeweiligen Anforderungen sind. Du koordinierst die Beiträge interner Stakeholder sowie von Partnerunternehmen und Unterauftragnehmern. Du erstellst, prüfst und strukturierst Angebotsunterlagen. Du koordinierst angebotsbezogene Aktivitäten mit Bereichen wie Sales, Engineering, Legal & Compliance, Risk Management und Quality Assurance. Was Du mitbringst Anforderungen Mindestens 3 Jahre relevante Berufserfahrung im Bid Management, Proposal Management, Projektmanagement oder in einer vergleichbaren kommerziellen Funktion. Erfahrung in der eigenständigen Steuerung komplexer und idealerweise technischer Angebote oder Ausschreibungen. Ausgeprägte Koordinations- und Stakeholder-Management-Fähigkeiten sowie Erfahrung in der Zusammenarbeit mit interdisziplinären Teams. Sehr gute schriftliche und mündliche Kommunikationsfähigkeiten. Fließende Deutschkenntnisse sowie sehr gute Englischkenntnisse (C1/C2). Ausgeprägte Organisationsfähigkeit und die Fähigkeit, mehrere Prioritäten und Deadlines gleichzeitig zu managen.
