What You’ll Be Doing • Accountable to the GCAP DEOS Chief Engineer and International SDA, you will act as the UK National Design Authority for GCAP Distributed EO System. • Lead the critical Sensor Head Maturation Programme including prototypes, pre-production C-Models and eventually production development. • Ensure that the jointly developed solution satisfies UK National objectives and aspirations. • Lead system and physical architecture, ensuring alignment across opto-mechanical design and multifunction capability. • Responsible for the embodiment of the design solution and for defining the technical baseline. • Drive systems engineering activities including design development, design verification, validation, qualification test, and authorisation for change management. • Lead concept generation, solution development, and trade studies across the system lifecycle. • Provide technical governance and approval of key engineering artefacts, including compliance matrices and qualification evidence. • Engage with national stakeholders across government, industry partners, and customers. • Ensure integration across subsystem domains including optical, mechanical, hardware and electro-mechanical systems. • Support safety, security, and airworthiness activities. • Lead technical reviews and ensure robust decision-making at system level. What You’ll Bring • Extensive experience in complex systems engineering, ideally within electro-optics, sensing, or advanced electronic systems. • Proven track record in system architecture leadership and design authority roles. • Strong background in concept development and advanced system design. • Ability to operate at programme and national stakeholder level. • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision‑making skills. • Experience within multi-partner defence programmes and familiarity with tools such as DOORS/Teamcenter (desirable). Ce support requiert une collaboration active avec les équipes de techniciens de maintenance préventive et curative, les ingénieurs process et les autres ingénieurs équipements. Vous mettrez en place de nouvelles procédures d’intervention en fonction des problématiques rencontrées, tout en assurant la formation des techniciens de maintenance. Vous interviendrez sur le terrain, depuis les diagnostics de pannes jusqu’à la résolution des problèmes, en restant proactif pour améliorer la détection et réduire la récurrence des incidents. Vous devrez être une force de proposition active en matière d’amélioration continue et un moteur dans leur mise en place. Vous participerez aux projets transverses de l’atelier. Vous vous approprierez les méthodologies et les processus nécessaires pour évoluer dans un environnement de haute technologie fonctionnant en continu, 24 h/24 et 7 j/7, et contribuerez à la réussite collective à travers une communication étroite avec le management de l’usine de fabrication. A propos de vous Vous souhaitez poursuivre votre carrière dans le domaine de l’industrie microélectronique. Vous êtes diplômé(e) d’une école d’ingénieur. Vous justifiez d’une expérience significative d’au moins 3 ans en maintenance ou en gestion d’équipements industriels. Vous disposez de compétences en mécanique, pneumatique, électronique, automatisme et techniques du vide. Vous connaissez les méthodologies de diagnostic de pannes et les techniques d’analyse des modes de défaillance. Vous aimez travailler en équipe, sur le terrain, au plus près des machines, avec rigueur, autonomie et une forte curiosité scientifique. Un bon niveau d’anglais est nécessaire. Le poste étant très proche de l’environnement de production, une forte présence terrain en salle blanche sera indispensable. Les notions de service et de réussite collective seront des qualités indispensables.
