Equipment Ownership & Uptime * Serve as primary owner for assigned tools, especially, LAM XLE and LAM Rainbow systems. * Maintain and continuously improve OEE, MTBF, and MTTR targets. * Develop and maintain equipment health monitoring and baseline control (SPC, FDC, fault codes, alarms). * Drive daily tool performance reviews, documenting issues, actions, and recovery plans. 2\. Maintenance & Troubleshooting * Plan, execute, and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) activities according to OEM recommendations and fab strategies. * Perform complex troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, vacuum, RF, gas delivery, and software subsystems. * Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for chronic and high‑impact issues using structured methods (8D, Fishbone, 5‑Why, etc.). * Coordinate and supervise vendor field service engineers (FSEs) and contractors during major interventions, upgrades, and rebuilds. 3\. Process / Equipment Interaction * Work closely with process engineering to ensure equipment performance supports CD, profile, uniformity, selectivity, and defectivity requirements. * Analyze tool logs, SPC charts, metrology data, and wafer maps to correlate equipment conditions with yield and parametric performance. * Support process qualifications, chamber swaps, hardware changes, and recipe releases. * Ensure correct implementation and maintenance of chamber matching between AMAT and TEL tools. 4\. Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction * Identify and implement improvement projects to increase uptime, extend parts lifetime, and reduce operating cost. * Optimize consumables usage and spare parts strategy (buffer stock, repair vs. replace, refurbishment plans). * Participate in or lead CIP / Lean / Six Sigma projects for productivity and quality enhancement. * Support capacity upgrades (chamber additions, throughput improvement, software enhancements). 5\. Documentation, Procedure & Training * Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting guides for AMAT SuperE, AMAT DPS. * Document all events, alarms, interventions, and changes in the equipment history system (EHS/CMMS). * Provide technical training and coaching to equipment technicians, junior engineers, and shift personnel. * Ensure compliance with change management process for hardware, software, and recipe modifications. 6\. Safety & Compliance * Ensure all activities follow EHS regulations, company safety rules, and cleanroom protocols. * Conduct and support risk assessments, LOTO procedures, and safety audits for gas, chemical, RF, and high‑voltage systems. * Support compliance with ISO/Automotive/Quality Management Systems as applicable. Job Requirements 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent 2. Min 5 years of relevant work experience in Semiconductor Etch area, familiar with Etch Equipment (LAM XLE and LAM Rainbow) 3. HSE & Compliance * Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company and client HSE policies. * Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSA), tool‑box talks, and safety audits. * Ensure hook‑up activities are carried out in line with applicable standards, codes, and project procedures. * 5\. Interface with Commissioning & Operations * Coordinate with commissioning engineers to align hook‑up sequence with testing and start‑up requirements. * Support preparation and closure of mechanical completion (MC) and pre‑commissioning dossiers. * Participate in system walk‑downs and punch list clearance with client/operations teams. * 6\. Documentation & Reporting * Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, including key performance indicators and risks. * Ensure as‑built information, red‑marked drawings, and field changes are properly documented. * Contribute to project close‑out reports and lessons‑learned sessions. * Prepare & raise PR/PO after collaboration with Purchaser. YOUR ROLE Working independently on equipment maintenance to meet MTBF / Wafer Output / process yield quality and throughput parameters. To work with equipment vendor / project team / Facility Process for new tool installation , commissioning and qualification meeting the defined timeline schedule. Key Responsibilities 1\. Equipment Ownership & Performance * Act as equipment owner for a defined set of CMP tools * Monitor OEE and uptime, define and drive actions to improve them. * Analyze equipment alarms, and chronic issues; implement robust corrective and preventive actions. 2\. Maintenance & Troubleshooting * Define and optimize PM (Preventive Maintenance) plans and spare parts strategy. * Support technicians in complex troubleshooting: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, robotics and software. * Escalate and coordinate with equipment vendors (remote and on-site) for advanced technical support. 3\. New Equipment Introduction & Upgrades * Participate in specification, selection, installation and qualification of new CMP tools. * Lead or support process and equipment release to production, including capability and stability checks. * Manage equipment upgrades, retrofits, and obsolescence mitigation projects. 4\. Process & Quality Support * Work with process engineers to ensure that equipment performance meets process requirements * Support yield, quality, and reliability investigations from an equipment perspective * Ensure equipment operation complies with quality systems (e.g. IATF 16949, ISO 9001, automotive standards where applicable). 5\. Continuous Improvement & Industrial Efficiency * Analyze data and KPIs; identify bottlenecks and chronic losses. * Lead or participate in Lean/Six sigma/SMED activities for cycle time, cost, energy, and throughput improvements. * Drive standardization of settings, PM procedures, troubleshooting guides, and documentation. 6\. Safety, Environment & Compliance * Ensure strict adherence to EHS rules (chemicals, slurry, gases, high voltage, vacuum, cleanroom, LOTO). * Participate in risk assessments, FMEA, and implementation of safety interlocks and procedures. * Maintain compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements (e.g. waste handling, emissions). 7\. Documentation, Training & Knowledge Management * Create and maintain equipment documentation: procedures, checklists, work instructions, recovery plans. * Train and coach maintenance technicians on equipment usage and basic troubleshooting. * Contribute to knowledge base and share best practices across shifts and sites. Job Requirements: * A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent. * Min 5 years of relevant work experience in CMP area, familiar with CMP Equipment (AMAT MirraMesa, Ebara F-REX200, Ontrak, etc.). * Strong troubleshooting skills and deep technical knowledge. * Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, 8D methodologies. * Excellent communication, cross-functional collaboration abilities and written skills. * Positive learning attitude with strong sense of responsibility. * Strong ownership, a commitment and flexibility to support operational priorities * Able to adapt in a fast paced environment and work under pressure. Role We are looking for a Digital Verification Engineer – SoC to join our MDRF-RFOC-DVCC Digital Verification team in Naples, dedicated to the digital verification of complex SoC/IP for automotive / industrial applications. The selected candidate will work on SystemVerilog UVM testbenches, firmware / drivers in C, and Python scripts for automation, contributing to the entire verification cycle: from strategy definition to environment creation, up to coverage analysis and debug. Within the team we also use AI-assisted tools and methodologies to accelerate development, debug, and results analysis, and we expect the candidate to be curious and interested in leveraging these technologies in day-to-day activities. Main Responsibilities * Define, in collaboration with architects and designers, the verification strategy at IP and/or SoC level. * Develop and maintain UVM testbenches in SystemVerilog (environment, agent, sequencer, driver, monitor, scoreboard). * Write and integrate C tests for subsystem and SoC verification in simulation and/or emulation environments. * Develop Python scripts (and, when needed, bash/Tcl/Perl) for: * regression automation, * post-processing of results, * coverage analysis and report generation. * Perform functional debug of failing test cases, interacting with the design (RTL) team and system architects. * Run and debug gate-level simulations with SDF back-annotation, analyzing timing-related issues and collaborating with design and implementation teams to identify and resolve problems. * Analyze and manage functional coverage and code coverage, proposing new tests or testbench improvements to meet quality targets. * Use AI-assisted tools and workflows for: * generation and review of testbench code and scripts, * log analysis, * debug acceleration. * Contribute to the continuous improvement of verification flows (methodologies, common libraries, guidelines, best practices). * Produce clear and structured documentation for: * verification specifications, * testbench architecture, * test plans, * key results. Technical Requirements Mandatory (must-have) * Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, Physics with an electronics focus, or related disciplines. * Solid knowledge of digital verification of integrated circuits (RTL concepts, testbench, stimuli, checkers, coverage). * Hands-on experience with SystemVerilog and UVM methodology: * development of UVM components (sequencer, driver, monitor, scoreboard), * environment configuration, * sequence and virtual sequence management. * Good command of the C language for verification-oriented test/firmware driver development. * Experience with Python for scripting and automation. * Good knowledge and practical use of the Unix/Linux environment (shell, file system, batch jobs, compilation, basic scripting). * Familiarity with major digital simulators (e.g. Cadence Xcelium, Synopsys VCS, Siemens Questa). * Basic knowledge of version control flows (Git, SVN, DesignSync). * Good command of written and spoken English. * 5-8 years of experience in the role Desirable (nice-to-have) * Experience with SoC/IP verification (AMBA/AXI/APB/AHB buses, memory interfaces, peripherals, interrupt controllers, DMA, etc.). * Basic knowledge of machine learning / AI and use of AI tools for: * code generation, * log analysis, * test and scenario creation. * Knowledge of formal verification techniques (e.g. property checking, assertion-based verification) and familiarity with formal tools. * Experience in ISO 26262 environments. * Knowledge of other scripting languages (bash, Tcl, Perl) and related EDA tools (lint, CDC, STA) is a plus.
